low back dress

Description

My latest sewing project with a 2 dollar walmart fabric :) the fabric was stretchy so i didnt put in a zipper. It was fairly quick for a sewing project. They said I am suppose to use an interface, but im not entirely sure what it is and how to use it and why i should be using it. perhaps its time for a sewing class.

Its a figure flattering dress though, makes me feel very tall :)

simplicity #3735

Materials

stretchy polyester

way too busy for loads of sewing

It looks very good! I should really make a long slinky dress myself one of these days... By the way, interfacing (there is probably a sewpedia entry) is used to stiffen and strengthen the fabric, for example in a collar or a neckline facing. It is sold by the metre, like fabric (but there are also ready made strips for shraight waistbands). There are loads of different weights available, fusable an non-fusable, woven, knit and made of pressed fibres, so there's a choice for any fabric and any type of use. However, this variaty is also quite confusing at times.

Love this dress. Very flattering. I have had good luck getting inexpensive fabric at Walmart also. I made the Janina pants from a wool blend I got for $1.00 a yard. Fabulous. Keep up the good work.
