Description

beaded silk dress - the beading took way longer than I thought it would - and I actually had to do it twice because I had macine stitched the lines in gold thread first which ended up distorting the bodice, bah!!

Materials

the dress is actually in 2 layers: the top layer is made from a pink-red vintage silk organza sari brocaded with gold thread; underneath is magenta silk dupioni; the bodice is lined with bemberg. I used the border of the sari around the hem edges of the pleated skirt sections oh, and there are beads

hello i love this dress it is so beautiful, this is melina from a site we chatted on last night. i wonder if you can make this dress reversible and with just the detail on the top and not the bottom. It would look great in red and black i think.
