My kids have their very own stockings now. My daughter has been using my childhood stocking and my son didn't have one (he was two months old last Christmas). I've been stocking hunting for the last couple of years but hadn't seen anything I liked enough to buy. Now that I sew I decided to make them myself. I think they turned out great and my daughter is pretty excited about hers, which just makes all those hours so worth it! :) I used a vintage McCall's pattern that my grandmother handed down to me and modified the shape.

Great Job!! They are so adorable. I agree with you about not being able to find nice stockings in the store. Until recently my kids were using those plain red felt ones. I always worried about filling them up too full/heavy. I should go and make some for my family now :)

Thank you everyone, you guys are so encouraging! I hope they are something my kids will want to keep as they grow up.
These are so pretty! I'll have to try this when I make the advent calendar stockings for next year. You did such a great job. I also hope they become a family heirloom.
