My first go at the Stella! I adore the original, so thought I'd give it a try. I love the way it turned out, though I may have made it a size too large, as it's a bit wide across the shoulders for me. I decided to do a hidden front button closure instead of a decorative one. Great pattern, I already have plans to make more!

i like this pattern a lot, too. but don´t sewing as yet. your creation is great! i would be glad to see more! :)
I love it too - especially that it's blue and white, my favourite colour combination - I should give it a try when spring comes, if I find good material for it. I really like the fabrics you used.
it looks fantastic! the cotton print works really well. and the pix are great.
This looks great. I also love this pattern but it looks really hard to make. How difficult would you say it is having done it?
I love your version, especially your fabric choices!
You have made it in my faves! It is just gorgeous and fits you nicely.
I'd love to learn how you sewn the hidden button closure.
Thanks for all the great comments. I'd say it was not super hard, you just had to pay attention to what you're doing- no multi-tasking or watching TV while sewing! To do the front, I made the loop just like the pattern said, but tacked a flat button underneath the first pleat. A quick caution: when sewing on the bias strips, don't stretch the folded edge too much- just gather the inner edge more. I stretched mine too much and they tend to flip up a bit (you can see it in the first picture), which exposes the stitching. Not a huge deal, but something I wish I'd thought about more beforehand.
Beautiful Stella! I never dared to even think of making it, seems (too) difficult. I like yours a lot.
Thank you so much for posting your beautiful jacket! It looks wonderful with the combination of corduroy and the printed trim. I love the fun photos, too. :) I've had my eye on this jacket for a while now and am just now working up the courage to actually try it. Thanks for the tip on the bias strips - I haven't done any trim like that before.
