jetlag herringbone skirt with flounce

Size_chart

Description

This is my first skirt, the third item in my Working Wardrobe project. I made it in the middle of the night because my jetlag was keeping me up. Yay for bargain stash fabric at 3AM! I like this pattern (from the Oct. 2006 issue of Patrones) because it is simple and elegant, but still has some visual interest in the form of a front flounce that meets the yoke in an interesting curved seam. The back is a simple A-line piece. The fabric has a very fine herringbone weave, not visible in the pictures. Tip for others: If you're lucky enough to get your hands on an issue of Patrones, note that the sizing is 2-3 sizes bigger than Burda sizes, so check the measurements chart!
