a slightly modified dress from burda magazine october 2007, I used a fabric I had for 2 years and didn't know what to do with it, so I thought I could waste it if it didn't come out. I made the front and back skirt less tight around the natural waist, and the seams (?) that make the pleats aren't as long as the pattern required, but I think it fits me better this way, as I'm not very tall. I have no idea on when to wear it, but I really had fun making it!!

it looks beautiful on you, so sophisticated! the lining is very nice. i have many ideas when i can wear it ;P. with boots and a cardigan (cause here it´s cold!) to look more casual.. i think i want one, too :)!
the lining is very nice!! I think I like it better than the fabric of the dress, but it is a little too shiny and too "lining" to be worn on the outside. too bad it doesn't show when the dress is worn. Thank you!
looks great on you!
The dress looks great on you and looks really well made. Well done!
Looking great! I just finished this dress too. I plan to wear it with turtle neck and boot for this winter.
Looks tres chic. You did a great job. I think there are many ways to style the little black one. dressed up with jewlery and high heels and dressed down with cardigan over or a turtleneck underneath it and boots.
Beautiful work, especially in the pleat area! I love it.
I agree with Jj and Fashion1; boots will definately look great with this dress. Or you can wear it with some funky tights and mary-janes. I love what you with the pleats. Beautiful!
Heya love the dress could possible send me the pattern. Only just joined the site and cant find it on here ! x
thank you all. I think I will definitely wear it with my black boots and maybe colured stockings and same colour turtleneck or round neck. I don't want it to look too "elegant", not my style at all. @ Gracie_lou I took the pattern from the magazine Burda, october 2007 issue, you can look at in in the Burda magazine web site in the archive section, and maybe order the magazine or just the pattern from there
ooh, your alteration is so fun! i think the fact that you made it shorter and gave it more of a babydoll look pushes it more into the "cute" category than the "elegant " one (though, sorry, it's still very elegant!) i made this dress and i put a white button-down when i wear it to work to make it casual. you can see how this looks under my creations.
nice dress, was the pattern from the collection of patterns on this site, if so which one was it b/c i really like it. good job :)
@ Elainemay: I know you made one too, as a matter of fact I was inspired by yours and decided I could try my first project with a pattern to follow. And yes, still very elegant... I don't know if I'll ever wear it
Hi, I just finished this dress too. Come and look at my "wall of fame". Nice lining!
wow.. i like... every gurl should have a lil black dress
