alexander mcqueen's kimono blouse

Description

i can't believe it's finished. i'm not sure if i lost more nerves or as i've been told "made some new connections of my braincells". anyway, this was a in many ways very frustrating project but i think all the work paid off in the end. this is by far the hardest thing i ever sewed, mostly because of the confusing directions and all the preparation work - there are points labeled a-z on the pattern that all have to be marked (somehow there are a few i didn't even find out how to use). anyways, while there are a couple of places that don't look the same on the pictures on the showstudio website (where you can get the pattern for free) i'm very proud and feel like i own a designer garment and it's probably one of the nicest pieces of clothing that i ever owned.

Materials

bedspread my mom gave me from morocco

Credits

me for conquering this project, alexander mcqueen for prividing the beautiful pattern, all the people out there on the internet that have made this before me and from whom i got some valuable tips and my husband for living through all my nervous breakdowns!

oh, congratulations, you should be very proud indeed. i always wanted to make-try this, but i was worried that it's really just a size 8 - which i'm not - and I would never be able to ever wear it in the end.

    working on the McQueen blouse

Absolutely great! I know the pattern and am dreaming of it to make. I only think that my sewing skills and my patience will both have to improve. And I never found out what size it is. Can you please tell me? I love the colours of your blouse.

Amazing! The back feature is so well crafted, enhance the waist line beautifully (have you lost weight may I ask?) The fabric (and conception) makes it a very couture garment to cherish for ever!
