I had some random scraps of unwanted fabric from a slipcover my aunt made, and was in the mood for making a vest! The pattern is perfect for that kind of thing, because the pieces are small and easy to fit in. Since the fabric is kind of a thick denim type, lining wasn't necessary. The inside is beautifully finished with the use of a serger, special thanks to my auntie Dana! I did change the neckline so that it didn't include the flap. Otherwise, I kept true to the pattern.

Very cute - such a feminine version on the Franzi! I love it :O)
to be honest, I wasn't that interested in Franzi but your creation makes me reconsider. You accessorise it well too. Very feminine, well done!
Wow, looks again great. I never thought of a patterned fabric for the franzi vest, but it looks good! You did shorten the vest, didn't you? I'm making a Franzi vest right now, too :)
really great job again! I think of make the franzi vest again, but like you with a thinner fabric.
@polychromatin: I think it's not shortend. my vest end near the waist, too.
wow you certainly disproved my idea of the franzi being suited for only dull fabric. It's so gorgeous
This fabric choice makes the vest so pretty and feminine :D Wonderful job! :D
Elegant. Great job/unique. Fabulous photos as usual ;)
