Hmm...I'd like to know about other hobbies they have, what they do besides sewing and if they are curious to know how to do something else, what would it be (like painting, surfing, silversmithing, crochet...anything) :)
Also, what is their dream job?
How do you choose what to sew for yourself? Are you inspired by a fabric; a published pattern; something you saw in a fashion magazine; or something in your existing wardrobe you know looks good on you?
Ok, maybe my question can be edited a bit, but I hope you get the gist of what I'm asking;)
Dear Nora, Yep I'd like to know about the style icons and favorite trends or fashion era. Some questions could stay the same, like where are you from :) I'd like to see answers to different questions, since we are so much alike, answers tend to be very similar to same questions :)
yeah, style icons is good, also whether they come from a fashion/clothing production/arts background. what designers they like, how they find inspiration, who taught them to sew!
House of Worth, Coco Chanel…guess how old I am!!!
I come from a family of women who were “in service” since the early 1800’s. Grandmother Lula Bull was a seamstress. That love skipped a generation and I am waiting for my granddaughter, age 9, to arrive from Rhode Island for a summer of sewing lessons next June.
I taught myself the basics, but all of the “good stuff” was passed on by many generous women and two men. I hope to do the same. Trends come and go; quality remains.
I have always preferred classic styles for everyday, but love to construct traditional/ethnic garments. (I owe a debt of gratitude to the original Folkwear Pattern Co., “Cut My Cote” author Dorothy K. Burnham {1973}a great book on diagram sewing from the Royal Ontario Museum, and a small and unfortunately I think, out of business company The Crewel Elephant of Silverton Co. & last but not least. “National Geographic Magazine"for the interest in other ways of dressing).
So much for how I found myself with more thread, buttons, patterns, and tailoring tools than I can outlive. Now, how about you?????? Cordially, Nehmah
It might also be fun to know something like what their favorite/least favorite/most embarrassed-that-I-made-this project was. Might get some good stories out of that!
i'd be curious to know about thoughts on … what kinds of projects are good for beginners? what sort of progression of easy to more complex kind of projects might be suggested for someone who wants to eventually get more creative with their projects? good books to read about sewing or just for general inspiration? just a few from me :)

Do you prefer the same questions for everyone or different for each user?
