That's it I am not going to try posting the picture of my pants here again. Maybe I need to go and check the "how to" on posting images and see if I am doing something wrong. How is everyone else going with their pants? Hopefully you all saw mine in the creation section.
Anyway, I had to frankenstein my pants a little in the waist, because they weren’t fitting as snug as I'd like. Then my round belly was pulling the zipper overlap and I had to stitch it to the zipper aswell rolls eyes.
Hi there,
Sorry for the difficulties with the original thread, Nora and Benedikta are working on getting it fixed. In the meantime please take the time to let us know how you went making these pants, were they easy/difficult? Did you make any alterations? What fabric did you use? If you were to make them again, would you make any changes?
Also, please upload a photo of your finished pants here (see the how-to if you have any difficulties) or in the creations section of the site.
We will start a new project next week which i will announce in my blog post on Tuesday. Head on over to the ‘PROJECT 3’ thread to make your vote.
I finished mine, and I have to say that the emasurments guided e to make them one size too big, at least for the fabric I was using, which was lightweight and elastic horizontally. I “frankensteined” the waistband, which creates a little pucker, but I can wear them. Full shot after they are washed. This shows the inside of the waistband, on the outside it looks just regular, luckily.
I also had to add a line of stitching to the zipper overlap, since it wasn’t staying in place. Again, this might be because of the type of fabric.
I was quite happy with the pattern in the end. They did end up a little big through the hips but that may be because I lost a little weight while making them. Breast feeding, vomiting bug. I have posted them as a creation because as you have probably noticed each time I try to post them here I muck up the thread. If I made them again (and I would like to make the shorter version for summer) I might try putting on the back pockets and depending on my size I would go down a size but keep the waist bigger or vice versa.
I still need to frankenstein my Janina's a bit more (per the threads below). Also, since I did my in linen, which refuses to hold a crease, I'll probably top stitch in the creases. Hopefully I can get these dang things done this weekend!
Here’s my Janina’s. Thanks for the tip on cutting them a bit smaller. I did add to the waist and shorten them quite a bit (5'4"). I did also make the seam allowance smaller at the waistline so they are higher cut—I'm short and a bit stout.
Gawd, that still didn’t work. Anyway, I added to the waist, shortened the legs, decreased the seam allowance at the upper thighs where they meet at the crotch, decreased the seam allowance at the waist so they would fit a bit better—1.5 inches below my navel is the widest part of me, not where I want a horizontal waistline, increased the seam allowance (graded) at center back and the center back waistband so it wouldn’t gap.

Yeah, that’s really weird.

I'll post images when I have finished the hems.

I'll try to repost this pic, if it doesn't work, I did upload a picture to the gallery? It's called Janina in blue.
Here goes
