Hi, I wondered where I can find a hard copy of the book in a brick & mortar store in Belgium? As I would like to know what patterns it includes before buying. Thanks!

Hi,
Have you tried this site: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/burdastyle-sewing-vintage/id566952946?mt=11
Since it is an eBook, you can also try to purchase from Amazon since there wouldn’t be any shipping: http://www.amazon.com/BurdaStyle-Sewing-Vintage-Modern-ebook/dp/B009JU6UN8/ref=tmm_kin_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1361671724&sr=8-1
Let us know if this helps!

Hi,
I am a size 16 and was wondering if the patterns in the Burdastyle Vintage Book will be able to accomodate me before I make a purchase of the book.

Hi,
The women’s patterns go up to a Burda Size 46. As brands vary, you can look at our size chart to compare your specific measurements with the Burda equivalents: http://www.burdastyle.com/statics/size-chart
Let us know if that helps!

Hi Tracey, sorry to hear that you are having similar difficulty in seeing your projects I have sent an email and posted here; having had a reply I chalked it down to the weekend and today being a holiday, hopefully tomorrow will bring a reply. I did put alot of effort, being sick etc, my photos are not brilliant but I believe I fulfilled the brief. Anyways entering this contest has jumpstarted my sewing and that is a good thing. Goodluck to you and hope all there is resolution for us both.

Hello katdat,
I apologize for the delayed response, it was a long weekend for us here. To complete you submission it was required for you to link your project to the base pattern used.
I see that Tracey listed the instructions for linking the pattern below. You much click the box “My project is based on an existing project or pattern on BurdaStyle.” When the text box appears you must type in the base pattern name used, wait for the drop down menu to appear and select the correct pattern on the list.
We also filtered the required title when viewing submissions as well.
The finalist gallery will be posted shortly.
Best,
BSS

Hi there, I entered the Burdastyle Vintage Modern Sewing Contest which I discovered too late but managed to finish my projects on time. In a flu haze I uploaded photos and did all the necessary and was able to do this after much difficulty before the deadline but unfortunately I am seeing my project on the project page. I do not know where I went wrong. Thanks for any help in this.

Hi there Katdat, I am feeling your pain. I have had mine uploaded for days now and it is also still in the projects area and has not been put in the area with all the other contestants! I am nearly in tears, trying to figure out where I went wrong- with 2 pleas for help written to whoever answers these questions… I am at my wits end.
If you hear anything will you .
let me know? I will do the same if I hear anything.
Good luck,
Thanks,
Tracey

So…Katdat- I just did the same thing again and again- the last time my husband did the same thing I did- exactly and it worked for him-
you need to check the box that says that your project is based on a Burdastyle and for me it was the Jamie Shift Dress when I put it in a yellow box with same name showed up and I clicked on it- Then it puts it into a long white box- and makes it official- it isn’t very intuitive,
Best,
Tracey

Do I really need to buy the book in order to have only one pattern? it is the only thing I am interested in. It is too bad, because I have to many sewing books and buying another book would make me feel guilty since I owned almost a complete sewing library at home.

I want to download the pattern Elizabeth Gathered Waist dress but don’t have a code, Do I really need to buy the book in order to purchase this pattern only? That’s too bad…I only need this pattern right now.

Hi Patty,
The Elizabeth Gathered-Waist Dress is part of the book BurdaStyle Sewing Vintage Modern and not sold individually. The patterns you see listed above are for customers who purchase the eBook and not the hard copy. eBook customers receive a download code to access them from this site. If you are concerned about having too many books in your sewing library, an alternative can be to purchase the eBook, which costs less.

Hi chillwear,
If you received a physical copy of the book, they are all included in the envelope located at the back of the book. The patterns for download on this site are for eBook customers. If you received the eBook, the code is provided there.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi amberg,
Here is an Australian site we found that carries the book:

I’m not sure about brick and mortar places, but you may want to try Tessuti which has four locations: http://www.tessuti.com.au/locations
Hope this helps!

I just received my book in the post today from Amazon and I’m just champing at the bit to get started sewing!! My only problem is I’m 7 months pregnant and have to wait until junior arrives before I can get started when I know what size I’ll be!! But all in all still love the book!!

Thanks for your support and congrats to you! The book was designed with a variety of projects and you can totally turn the Joni Bell-Sleeve Top into a maternity-friendly top or dress by lengthening the hem. Cheers!

I wish I had seen this page before I bought it. It’s good, but one of the base patterns is men’s – not interested – and I hate pants with seams in the front and back. I appreciate the drafting demos, but I think it would have been way easier and more precise to have a bustier pattern – so much time to convert the Elizabeth dress- I will just use one of my bustier patterns if I want to make a dress like that.

Thanks so much for your feedback, cikk! We hope that you’ll post some of your finished projects on the site. Regarding the Jean Stirrup Pants, the front markings on the pants are actually pintucks and you need not include them in your sewing. Thanks again for purchasing the book!
