1 Pattern 3 Different Ways!

Main_medium

We are debuting this new pattern from the Burda Easy series of sewing patterns, and it sure is easy to sew! The best part about this new pattern is that with the one pattern download you can easily make three different styles. The instructions include images to sew each of these variations that are loose, flowy, and easy to wear and sew. Read more to find out more and see all the different ways you can make this pattern work for you.

Celebrity Style Inspiration: Reese Witherspoon

Reesecoverimage_medium

Reese Witherspoon is the picture of elegance and class, on and off the red carpet. She’s a natural beauty and her all-American, classic style has made her not only “America’s sweetheart” but a fashion industry darling.

We love that Reese keeps her fashion choices interesting with bold prints and fun accessories while sticking to a pretty solid “uniform.” This often consists of a skirt and blouse/sweater, paired with a structured bag, polished hair and makeup and heels. She consistently looks put together, like she has fun being a girl and putting together a new outfit every morning.

We’ve taken a few styling cues from Reese for spring and paired some of our favorite BurdaStyle patterns that will give you a look so similar to Reese Witherspoon you might catch yourself speaking with a southern drawl!

Full Skirts for the Win

117b-042015-b_large_medium

In a time when we see so many oversized, boyfriend, boxy styles (all of which I whole-heartedly love by the way) it’s nice to mix things up with something that screams femininity and flatters nearly every figure. Full skirts are in full swing for spring, hitting just below the knee and cinching at the waist with a fuller effect. This look can be styled a multitude of ways and we’ve put together some of our favorite looks including a sweet style for a bridal brunch, a romantic date night look and a downtown cool outfit for afternoons shopping in SoHo.

Buy or Make: Gingham Edition

Buyitvsmakeitfeatureimage_medium

Above Photo: Net-A-Porter

The sweeter cousin of plaid, gingham is the print of spring 2015. It was popularized by style icon Brigitte Bardot and has the optimistic feeling of 50s and 60s French Riviera-meets-classic-Americana. This past September designers including Michael Kors, Diane Von Furstenburg and Altuzarra sent the retro print down the runways in modern silhouettes and unexpected colors. We’ve seen the trend on the street in matching seperates, sweet shirtdresses and button-down shirts playfully tied in the front. It’s easy to wear, understatedly sexy and ultra-feminine, we’ll be wearing this print all season long.

We’ve taken a few of our favorite looks from the runway and paired them with nearly identical BurdaStyle patterns that will help you get the look – for a lot less! Just pick up your favorite gingham printed fabric and get sewing.
