Project Runway Recap, S 16, E3


A Leap of Innovation – Taking inspiration from the movie Leap: I’ll start off by saying: I don’t get it. The winning look from E3 looked like a sloppy, ill-fitting oversized men’s shirt with button loop accents. Why was this suddenly a masterpiece? I was sure Aaron would be “safe.” Not in the bottom, but safe. However, he was the winner of this challenge, and has immunity for next week. If he wasn’t so sweet and genuine, I’d be more upset.

DIY: Pineapple Prints


Whether straight-lined or wild, this print is fun! On white and pastel tones pineapples look nice and summery even in the fall. You can also experiment with printing on darker colors to make the print really pop and radiate. September is National Sewing Month! This month has been recognized since 1982 when President Ronald Regan declared the importance of home sewing to the nation. We sew a lot all year long, but it is nice to have this month set aside especially for those who love to sew. This year turn a friend on to sewing and show them why sewing is so awesome!

Quick Tip: Appliqué 3 Different Ways


Appliquéing is a way of stitching on a garment or an accessory. This application is used, for example, in costume fashion to provide patches with traditional motifs. In our case, appliqués can decorate not only fashion clothing effectively for further adornment, but also decorate defective areas nicely – especially in children’s clothing.
