Meg's Magazine Mash Up: Vintage Jane Dress Reveal!

I was going to post this yesterday but I decided to take New Year’s Day off and managed to watch 4 movies! I had a great New Year’s Eve in my newly made dress Vintage Jane Dress and I loved flaunted the fact that I made it in less than a week. People loved it and I loved wearing it. My favorite part was the slight flare in the skirt which made the dress nice and comfy and not too tight. Read more to see the rest of my sewing tutorial and some more project pics. Meg's Magazine Mash Up: Sewing My NYE Vintage Jane Dress!

Last week I debuted my next Mash Up pattern which was our Vintage Jane Dress, and I said it in text that I would finish sewing it by New Year’s Eve to wear it out… and I did it! I finished it last night, some sewing patterns just come together quite easy and fit perfectly the first time and this was the case. Read on to see my first steps in making the dress. Part 2 will come tomorrow where I will also include photos of me in the dress and ready to go out for New Year’s Eve!

4 Last Minute Things you can Make Before NYE!

I challenged myself with making a dress from scratch (only starting last night) but if you feel like starting from scratch you can easily add trim to an existing dress or make an accessory in no time. Thank you ALL for your wonderful comments on my last project reveal for my plaid and floral dress! You guys are the best, and make me feel confident in all my sewing decisions and also make me more excited to post about what I am working on as well as seeing what you are all sewing. For this Mash Up I didn’t go through all the voting stuff (next one I will, I promise). I knew I wanted to sew a dress for New Year’s Eve and time is ticking… I chose a dress pattern from our 60s Vintage Collection (because it is awesome). Read on to see the pattern I picked as well as my fabric selection and design alterations. I’m super excited about this one, and I only have just over a week to sew it EKK.

DIY Apron Holiday Gift

This year I know I wanted to make at least ONE of my holiday gifts… so I made this turquoise apron using our draft-it-yourself Apron pattern and it turned out fabulous, fun, and feminine (my favorite f word).
