Wear It With Fringe: DIY Tutorial

Above Image: Polyvore

We see it on the runway, the street and even the red carpet. Fringe is taking over…and we’re pretty into it! The great thing is you can incorprate it into nearly every article of clothing (however, not recommended all at once!) from your vest to your skirt, even your shoes. You already know we are all about the current 70’s renaissance and this is definitely a part of that trend. It adds a boho, free-spirit feel to any outfit and we can’t wait to wear it this spring and summer.

Meg's Magazine Mash Up: Sewing My Everyday Trousers

I was away last week so I didn’t start sewing my trousers until the weekend (that is when I like to sew anyway). In this post I show the assembly of the pants and front hip pockets. I bought really nice medium-weight black stretch cotton and stretch silver lamé to panel together. I have one side seam complete so I was able to slip on the pant and I think I have to make a few crotch adjustments. Check out my first sewing progress report for our everyday trousers pattern, and sew along with me!

Get The Look: Culotte Pants

There is a new trend in town, folks, the culotte pant! Similar to the gaucho pants that we here at BurdaStyle sported in highschool but with modern and chic tailoring. Styled right, we think these pants are a total hit for Spring. Lucky for us, BurdaStyle just came out with two new culotte patterns so you’re able to sew the look yourself with the material, color and of course tailoring to fit your body!
