As the mid-season collections (Resort, Pre-Fall) become as closely watched as their Fashion Week counterparts, we’re starting to see more and more mico-trends emerge from these in-between offerings. One particular Resort 2012 trend that recently made me take notice was head-to-toe printed looks. These aren’t the same mashed together prints we’ve seen from season’s past (think SUNO, Miu Miu, etc) but rather a single print used on both top and bottom (and in the case of Celine, on the jacket as well).

I personally haven’t sported matching printed tops and bottoms since I spent my summers sewing coordinating outfits for me and my Barbie dolls with my grandma, but I have to say that I am intrigued by this idea and wonder if we have any BurdaStyle members who are brave enough to try the trend themselves. So, what are your thoughts? Love it, hate it, maybe give it a try?

Of course this look can be worn by anyone, you just have to have the correct print and proportions. I love the look. Each example would really be enhanced with a solid color tee or turtle neck top.

YUCK……..well maybe not exactly. I would like to see some better pictures/poses….. It’s almost like the person who chose the samples doesn’t like the look and chose the worst examples they could find. I can’t wear it myself – but I’m sure there are a lot of people who could carry it off very nicely!

The first one looks OK but the other two, with their skinny legs and the distorted visual effect the print has on their bodies, are fashion car crashes. I agree with amyalberici in that fashion is about accentuating the natural form of your body, not about looking like an ostentatious, floral Raggedy Anne doll, made from quilting leftovers, that your Grandma lumpily stuffed and propped up on your bed!

Why not? I’m a bold Print Addict, and if I love the print, I’ll go top to bottom in it!

But why even try? All of those outfits make me cringe. They “speak” louder than the person wearing them. Colors, fashion and accessories are supposed to accentuate our human forms or hide our awkward proportions. These prints just outshow and behave much too boldly.

If the models can’t pull this look off, what chance does the general public???

i think i would it depends. I love to wear head to toe different prints but the same….mmmm…yeah I would. I mean I would wear a evening gown grocery shopping for goodness sakes I have some balls. It’s not for everyone though for sure. the ones above Akris is the easiest to wear but I am like an old lady and love flowers
