This new plus size pattern collection from burda style magazine’s December issue is a mix of work and play! From soft nude tones to classic black these designs are a wonderful mix of feminine styles for work, at home, and especially for an evening out. Party business-like, partly party-style, and entirely stylish.

This is the perfect Evening Gown to really impress people. The stretch satin, fitted lines, and deep V-neckline guarantee a sensational fit! A brilliant detail is the maxi-bow which can be tied at either the front or the back.

This Trendy Waistcoat radiates self confidence and creates a lovely figure with its slightly tailored cut. Black petersham ribbon on the front edges gives this design a special touch. These Stretch Trousers makes the perfect partner for the waistcoat. They have a great fit with waist darts and an invisible zipper hidden in the side seam.

This Slinky Top in a soft nude tone is the height of pure elegance. The bias cut makes it cling alluringly to the figure. The key to its appeal is its simplicity.

We love this Draped Dress. It is a lively variation on the little black number, with a deep sweetheart neckline and gathering in the side seam. The cut makes for a dream figure since it delicately hides problem areas.

So soft and classy looking, this Two-Tone Tunic is entirely in jersey. Two colors and a sophisticated cut, with details like forwarded shoulder and side seams, give it a really individual feel. Under the loose tunic shape, figure-hugging satin trousers are the perfect partners.

Why always wear a business jacket to work? This brushed wool Jacket with asymmetrical zip makes for an elegant change, with such unusual details as the sewn-in front section of pleated fabric.

Instead of a blouse, how about slipping into this feminine Satin Shirt? This flared style with its narrow sleeves is cut on the bias for an especially lovely drape.

Brushed wool and nappa leather in a vintage-look Blocked Coat that really catches the eye! With its concealed front closure and the shoulder tabs, this coat makes a really great impression. It has pockets in the horizontal seams and hangs wonderfully on the figure.
Happy Sewing!

Thank you Burda for making lovely plus-sized styles. I will definitely make some of these.

Ok, I like the satin shirt and the tunic. I LOVE the draped dress. The gown, however, I’m not feeling. Maybe it’s the fabric? I just looks like a draped tent. The vest and pant are ok, but that jacket is way too weird. It’d be nice without that terrible ruffle. And, that model isn’t plus size, is she?! She is gorgeous! She has, like , the PERFECT figure! Nice to see Burda putting up more good looking plus size stuff.

Can I purchase December’s issue in Canada? Where can I get a paper pattern not a pdf? Thank you for some of the most dazzling designs I’ve seen in a long time anywhere, Burda, you’ve made me want to start sewing my own clothes again!

Kind of an odd mix of patterns, but there’s some nice ones in here this time. Live EVERYONE else, I love that black dress, and the asymmetrical jacket is beautiful! Despite how tent-like it is, I’m also interested in that two-toned jersey tunic.

The black draped dress is indeed beautiful and will flatter the large figure with an undefined waist.. I like that the bust cut accomidates the larger woman. I will definately change the neckline [insert antique lace] I will not touch the facinating hem line.Thank you, Minnesota

WOW! I was almost ready to cancel my membership since none of the patterns would expand to fit my 4’11" but rather hefty/curvy body. And then a near-Christmas miracle. Plus size yet gorgeous clothes. We larger, curvier women sew a lot because that was, for many years, the only way we could get nice clothes. It is so nice & smart of Burda to give us what we like. My thanks for the lovely designs.

This model is distractingly beautiful. She makes me want to make and wear every single piece featured in the article! Both dresses, the vest, the silky blouses, and that camel coat are PHENOMENAL. The shape, color and cross-over zipper lapel of the pink jacket are great also but experience has taught me that ruffles on big boobs rarely works.

I bought the stretch pants patten, but what I got was a vest pattern. Could you please fix this problem? Thanks

I so love the black and the red dress..Why do they have to be in plus sizes. I have to go resize them to a size 38.

I love that you reprinted the green maxi dress from the 12-2011 issue in Plus sizes now! Both versions are stunning, in green or red satin! http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/122011-long-sleeve-maxi-dress
