If you look above that set of pictures, you will see it says that is ‘inspiration’. They do not have patterns for those pics. Th only patterns are for those below where it says ‘And now the patterns’. Burda uses this layout every time they have an ‘inspirational’ email.

I have always loved white. I have a white buttoned down with curved hem line. White crocheted dress, white pants, white t shirts in a variety of styles, white layered skirt, white shoes, white hats, white scarves, white gloves, white sunglasses. when I seen a pattern that I liked and I liked it well enough to keep making it, it turns into white. I am making a crocheted white purse right now to go with the other whites. I also have winter whites.

I love the first pic, too…..is there a pattern for this one? I would love to try it. Also, the lace one…..would love pattern. I have so much white and black silky, lacy and somewhat patterned fabric that I bought that are industrial bolts. Got for a great price, but like I said most are black, white, lace, stretchy lycra mixes and some naturals. Would love more white only patterns. NEED more….. :-S

Hi all! The white lace dress is Day by Malene Birger. I have made 3 lace dresses of my own in the past few weeks using these patterns:
Cap Sleeved Mini Dress,
and the
Cap Sleeve Dress with gathered skirt.
I highly recommend the first one, the pattern is perfect for matching the Day dress. My top tip: Lay the lace over nude colored lining— then you can really see the details in the lace.

Love the lace dress. My daughter is wanting me to make one like it for fall college. Do you know the lace? and where I might order from and also the lining. The pattern is absolutely perfect. Do we have it in magazine?

This pattern also makes for a great lace dress project with sleeves.

In one of my favourite books of all times, an old (1980’s) Swedish sewing book FULL of inspiration (such as an interview with the young, fresh designer Jean-Paul Gaulthier) there is an interview with an old lady called Märta De Laval (and that’s a really nice name in Swedish, cottage meets aristocracy, kind of) who wore white clothes only, ever. She’s pictured in a black and white photograph, in her home, with a black or white cat (can’t remember which) by her feet, in smart wide pants and a shirt – all white of course – holding pieces of her white wardrobe in front of her, with a quirky smile on her face. That image has stuck in my mind, and she’s one of my big style-icons. One day I’ll post that picture in my blog. This post reminded me of her, thank you!
