While our Southern neighbors are gearing up to start sewing strappy little summer dresses, those of us in the Northern hemisphere are just beginning to feel the bite of winter. There’s a wealth of warm winter sewing already here on BurdaStyle – just recently we’ve seen some new winter warmers in the form of Amy for ladies and Amin for gentlemen, but don’t forget the winter coats already on offer – Nancy for plus sizes and Talea and Elisabeth for smaller ladies.

But if you’re just a beginning sewer and the thought of a big winter project is just a bit too overwhelming for you right now, why not start out smaller with something like Legwarmers from recycled shirts or sweaters, or mittens, or even scoodie (that’s a scarf plus a hoodie!)! Or if your style lies closer to old world glamour, you may want to learn how to sew a fake fur muff that will keep your hands warm and look lovely with your best party frock!
