This carefree and easy new pattern collection is from burda style magazine’s October issue. Wander through this lovely collection of imaginative, self-assured and expressive designs. Flowing cuts, cozy wool fabrics, and cool fringes are seen in colorful autumn printed fabrics.

The zigzag print in autumn colors immediately draws attention to the fitted jersey T-shirt. Gathers at center front and along the extra long sleeves increase the impact.

This swinging Dress is sewn from colorful ikat-fabric which swirls at the knees. Inverted pleats tame the fabric fullness on the bodice.

This long Waistcoat of imitation lamb shearling is ideal to accompany you throughout the autumn. The edges are left unfinished and the waistcoat is closed with two snaps at the neck edge.

This uniform-style Military Jacket is definitely worth the effort. The shoulder tabs, double button rows, and flap pockets take a little time, but this jacket is a must have this autumn. We love it paired with this narrow printed Skirt With Draping which creates a lovely swinging silhouette.

Here is the Novelty Skirt. This flared skirt of woven novelty fabric is embellished with cross stitches in different colored threads and with a fringed trim added for the perfect folklore feeling.

This Belted Wrap Coat is cozy with sporty-chic styling. The unlined coat of fulled knit fabric is quickly sewn. The large collar is an eye-catching feature and the tie belt adds a feminine accent at the waist.

This cowboy-style Corduroy Shirt with pointed shoulder yokes and patch breast pockets can be worn closed as a shirt or open as a casual jacket. We love it paired with the ankle length Drawstring Maxi-Skirt that has section seams at the front and a leather waistband with elastic that allow you to wear with ease.
Try sewing up one or all of these adventurous designs.
Happy Sewing!

When viewing this collection, I could see how the fabric choice and accessories could create a personal style. What I like the most is that the patterns you selected could be worn by women of many ages and shapes.

A top notch inspirational collection. Love the shapes and fabric. The only item I would not make as is, is the novelty skirt, the waistband is a bit too ‘clunky’ for me, but that can be easily changed. The best collection I have seen for ages.

It looks like Missoni knit fabric. I saw some very similar to this in a fabric shop in Oakland, CA. If you google “Missoni knit fabric” you may find some that’s similar.
Often you can get the exact fabric used in the editorials from http://www.alfatex.de/epages/alfatex.sf (it’s in german). Good luck!

nouvellegamine is right. Many of the fabrics can be found on alfatex.de… Some of the fabrics listed are the exact fabric used in the photos and some of the fabrics listed are suggestions. “(ORIGINAL)” will be visible next to the title if it is the exact fabric. For some reason, when the English translation is selected (upper right corner) this specification is no longer visible.

I bought this issue and it is full of delightful patterns. I based my project on the sheepskin jacket with HUGE collar and loving how easy it was. http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/quilted-wrap-jacket-with-quilted-wrap-skirt

the military jacket and draping skirt are so cute! I love the styles together. A lot of these remind me of how my friends & I dressed in the early 90s.
