Waistcoats, vests, vestees (if you’re Canadian), sleeveless upper-body garments covered in sequins, studs, embroidery— call it what you will, the point is, waistcoats make any outfit a little bit cooler.
I was perusing through some inspiring pictures on lookbook.nu and I realized that there were four patterns we have on BurdaStyle from which you can create similar waistcoats featured in these adorable looks! Do you wear waistcoats? Vests? Have you made any of your own, own a leather one, a plaid one, a vintage one? Share! Check out this member’s vest made from pattern 4.

I am making one at the moment, for my Mister. It’s from a vintage pattern from the 70s. The muslin looked great but I get kinda stuck on the EVIL welt pockets!

welt pockets are so hard! check out this tutorial I created for a bag with welt pockets, there’s an in-depth look into welt pockets— and all of their evilness should fade away!

I have just looked at your tutorial! Oh! I wish I had seen it before. It looks like a double welt is easier than a single welt. I must try this as soon as I have a project for it!
