Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, and it is not too late to put together a last minute outfit for your plans! Even if you don’t have any plans, lounging around in silky garments and watching movies (and eating chocolate) is a great way to spend the evening… that is what I did last year. This year I have plans, and I’ll show how I plan to style my outfit. I also put together some of my favorite member projects and some free sewing patterns that are very V-Day appropriate.

I can’t believe it has been a whole year since we published this Little Black Dress post, and I still love that Scuba Dress I made for it! to be honest I really have not worn it that often, so I plan to wear it tomorrow on Valentine’s Day. Since it is so chilly out still I want to look elegant and bundle up under a fur coat like this pattern, and then underneath I’ll probably wear these adorable Bra and Knickers… because really what better excuse to wear them then on V-Day? I love special occasions, and excuses to dress up especially when it gives me the opportunity to sew something new for myself!

Here are some recent member project that I love, and would make great Valentine’s Day dresses! There is something about wearing black on this day that I like… I guess it may be to predictable to wear red. The only thing I like to wear red on Valentine’s Day is my lipstick and hair haha.

Becprentis’ overlay black lace dress is stunning! I love the illusion sweetheart neckline and trims. Vingt4’s A-line Dress is simply adorable, and the addition of those tights makes the outfit super cute!

We all know you need to wear something under the dress too, and I love all these member projects!

Mokosha made these pajamas by altering our Bra and Knickers pattern. The fabric is great and perfect for getting the pajama party started! Both elfka and Debbie Allingham used our Bra and Panties pattern to make their undergarments. The red and white retro panties are super girly and cute, and I just love the vintage vibe of these as well.

Our Bambi slip pattern is both free and darling! Maybe I still have time to make it quickly tonight before tomorrow… I love the variation with the cap sleeves!

Need a quick and easy project to sew? Check out my previous Sew your own Lingerie post where I show you step-by-step how to sew a free member panty pattern. This project literally only takes an hour and uses scrap fabric, so you definitely still have time and resources!

Happy Valentine’s Day and Sewing!

Meg, thank you for the lovely collage of projects and patterns – all are so pretty. Fur coat and tall boots are today’s essentials in New England. Happy V-day! :)
