Bugs or problems of inconvenience related to the new site recent migration, search no more, the problem is, and I would like to underline it, Analogue. Buster Keaton lost his balance a long time ago for the purpose of his most iconic film sequence! The clock building hosting the BurdaStyle indicates an evident standstill, since the launch of the site. A historic moment needs a creation myth, a little legend. I noticed the inoperative clock the first day of my internship, I found it weird, New York is supposed to be one of the fastest city of the world, and a forgotten clock in the heart of the city, well…Brooklyn might just be in a different time-zone. That day, I hung around the block postponing the intimidating time of my first visit. As you can see on the picture (taken at 11.16 am NY time), the clock is stuck on 5 past 11, the other side of the clock on 11:27. Now you would think taking the picture between those to contradicting times may not prove my point sigh…

I am trying to help the best I can, but there is not much I can do when it comes to bug tracking, all I can testify is that it is nerve wracking for the team members. I have been working on a simple shirt involving knitted implements and a few how-tos related to it, sharing the pattern table with Larisa. For now, I am off to visit one of my BurdaStyle member friend in Upstate New York and I am much looking forward to meeting all New York/Brooklyn based BurdaStyle members. Until then, happy sewing!

I’ve often felt that the relativity of time fluctuates, as some days seem to pass by in a flash of busyness & deadlines, but when one has to wait for something….the span of a few minutes, can feel like a year! Although some people say that ‘real estate is the only thing they’re not making anymore, so it’s the most valuable investment’….I think time is more valuable than any material thing. We bide our time, we kill time, we try to save time, yet at the end of the day, most (if not all) of us, wish we had more time to do the things we want to do… and who knows how many moments ultimately comprise a lifetime?

your posts kill me! the clock could truly be the whole problem…. i do believe a feng shui master would scale the building if asked to help with bug tracking….

that’s the great thing about NY, you are always on time because there’s always a clock to suit your needs :)
