Thank you Alden. It’s not the cost I am worried about. I have already replyed in another post the following:

I was referring to the fact that this site is becoming a repository for all burda magazine patterns. The impact is overwhelming and disproportional. Are the partecipants encoraged to develope their own designs? I think they are incoraged to over-play the burda models to enhance the Burda corporation. those patterns are already sold in Burdamoden site ( maybe for less, i don’t know and it’s not the point). I resent the promotional side of the issue- it makes us all the “interpetators” of Burda creations instead of a platform that gives or sells the creations of the partecipants.

These patterns are wonderful with great ideas. I agree that the $5.40 is a little expensive. I even wait until Vogue is having a sale on their patterns and NEVER pay more than $3.99 for them. Perhaps you guys could have a sale? I’ve got quite a few patterns in my shopping cart that I would love to buy hint but understand that people can’t be running websites for free!

does nobody worries, just a little bit, how this site belongs no more to the readers and crafts-people but to the “big brother” burda group? no more (some) free patterns and no more free spirits. It’s all sponsored-payed-for fun . as long as one can buy the burda magazin, why should one look for a pattern for 5.40$ and loosing one’s playground instead ?

I’m sorry you feel that way. We, the BurdaStyle team, completely understand/believe that the community is what makes this site and we really would be nowhere without you guys! You should know we are busy working on more tutorials and projects for you, the members. I think this post showcases some amazing (free) user patterns and projects as resources for the summer. On the other hand, there is a huge amount of cost running a website of this size (nearly 380,000 members!) so we do have to post patterns that are for cost to keep the website going. what is it specifically that you are missing? what would you like to see more of?

THAAAAANK YOU ananae, that’s exactly what I said quite a long time ago when they started to put up the for-pay patterns systematically…

A great article with extensive and exquisite list (links) of what one needs to be fully prepared for the beach and enjoy the summer. I fell in love with the light blue shirt and the pink harem pants. What a candy!
