Last night the 85th Academy Awards went down, and we had our eye on what the starlets were wearing! The Oscars are a fashion show right? Oh right, there are some awards given out for movies as well. Firstly, I really liked Olivia Munn in this deep red and gold Marchesa gown.

Charlize Theron looked classic in this white Dior Haute Couture dress.

Jessica Chastain looked amazing in this Armani number.

Jennifer Garner wore color down the red carpet in this Gucci gown.

Halle Berry nods to ’80s Dynasty styling in this Versace dress.

Melissa McCarthy in a grey embellished David Meister gown.

Amy Adams in a puffy Oscar de la Renta princess dress.

Anne Hathaway in a Prada Gown.

Naomi Watts in a dazzling Armani Prive Gown.

Overall, I thought this year’s Oscar fashions weren’t the best, and a little underwhelming to say the least. But, a few gowns stood out for us. We loved Jessica Chastain’s nude gown, and Naomi Watt’s glittery gown.

What did you think of last night’s red-carpet fashion?

Why on earth is Naomie Harris not on here? I may be biased as it was made at my school but it’s an incredible piece of work…

Anne Hathaway- nice but those darts…it just didn’t sit right Naomi Watts- too much going on here Amy Adams- toilet roll cover Charlize Theron- almost perfect Jessica Chastain- Perfect! Subtle, detailed, perfect fit, glam, elegant, timeless.

Is it just me or is there way less bling being worn? Austerity measures?

Poor Hathaway. That wasn’t her original dress. She ended up wearing this pink dress bc her co-star was wearing a dress too similar to her original one.

i actually love Anne Hathaway’s dress, she is very slender and I love column dresses. I think most people are used to seeing the same shape on the red carpet, fishtail strapless bustier. Same issue with much of the bridal stuff. I think her dress not only sued her body, and with a nice lever of sexiness without being a sex symbol, and primness. Very classic with some side breast cleave. I d not think she looks like she has saggy boobs at all, I love french darts. Other than that I think the rest were boring and typical of the dresses we’ve seen for the last 15+ years.

I HATED Hathaways’s dress. The dart placement on that dress screams saggy boobs, I am sorry. It was very boring and I just can’t get past the dart placement.

I have to agree with you. I was shocked that she appeared in that dress with the horrible darts. It really looked bad. I don’t know if anyone watched the Pre Oscars but she said something about how here mom called the dress “business in the front and party in the back.”. I would have to say the whole thing was bad.

I’ve caught up with some more pics- I loved Kerry Washington’s salmon colored gown and Queen Latifah looked phenomenal.

I thought the dresses were amazing this year…modern and edgy. My favorite was Jennifer Garner’s purple gown…just amazing. But for all over glam, head to toe, Charlize Theron, without a question, wins.

Ugh. Out of this collection of dresses, I only liked Amy Adams and Jessica Chastain. Melissa Mccarthy’s stylist needs a good smack. The dress isn’t that flattering. In my opinion, her dress should have been more tailored around the waist and chest. Hmm… I would have dressed her in blue to emphasize her eyes, tailored the bodice and placed tiny rhinestones… kept the draping around the waist to flare out… lovely…

The rest of the dresses look like the stylists were trying to emphasize the LACK of curves that these women have, rather than make them look womanly. I mean, the stylists tried but… ugh. =_=

Red carpet dress in the past few years has become frustrating to view.

I think Charlize looks amazing. I love Amy Adam’s dress but I don’t think the colour suits her.

I had read somewhere that it may have done her more justice if it was another pastel color, like blue or pink. Still a lovely gown, though.

The Georgio Armani was sleek, sophisticated and very modern. It showed off her beautiful curves!- not frumpy looking like some.

On the whole I thought most of the dresses were boring, really boring. I think in part this is the difference between the way the Americans dress (all pretty pretty) and what I like which is more edgy. That being said I think Anne Hathaway looks frumpy and I also think that Melissa McCarthy is not being dressed properly. If Melissa has a stylist she/he needs to get another job because she is a beautiful women who is better suited to an empire line than something with little to no structure. Of all of these I like Naomi Watts the best as I think she has a bit more interesting detail in her dress and she is an effortless looking beauty.

I liked Anne Hathaway’s Prada. It was very sleek and modern and went well with her hair.

Halle Berry was my favorite. Jessica Chastain’s was nice too. And I have to say, Jennifer Aniston! What? Wearing red instead of black! Good for you! Also, Amy Adams, very pretty! I will always secretly think she’s the Little Mermaid. Sally Field’s dress was beautiful. Adele went back to black (or was it navy?) But I thought it worked wonderfully since she was performing. And she looked so beautiful.

But did anyone else see Daniel Day Lewis’s wife? She. is. beautiful. Like, omg beautiful.

Jezebel named Jennifer Lawrence the Best Dressed of the Oscars. I agree, but I feel bad for the poor girl that the enormous thing tripped her up when she was accepting her award.

Things were a little blah, but I only saw one NO NO, worn by Brandy something-or-other: severely plunging neckline barely-covering-boobs bustier in beige. Yikes.
