The long wait for the new design has come and gone. Prior to the launch, we all waited eagerly, checking the site everyday with fingers gently and earnestly placed on the mouse- ready to click and scroll like never before. The screen shot sneak previews captured us, making us hungry for the day of the launch, and when it finally came, I think it’s safe to say we were all well-fed!

Now, we’ve all explored the site, discovered and exterminated many of the bugs, uploaded banners and etsy-mini’s, added photos to our home pages, written on each others walls, all while continuing to upload creations and download patterns. The one feature that we have not been able to fully take advantage of yet was the Upload Pattern. I know its been on my mind for quite sometime, as it has potential to become my favorite feature on the site. I come to you now, teeming with giddiness, to announce a very special How To, indeed. By following the instructions in the Create a Print-at-Home PDF How To, you can really share everything you’ve got with the other members of BurdaStyle. I couldn’t even wait to share this how to with you, after reading in the forums and, well, to be quite honest, dreaming about it for the last two weeks. So try it out, leave your feedback, and please think about some other methods that may make this easier for everyone!

Hi MarmotaB- and Emilykate. This is a great idea! I can understand why many people would not be interested in grading a pattern. I mentioned earlier that we will post a grading How To soon, along with pattern alteration How Tos, so the grading could be done by the member you downloads the pattern, if not by the pattern designer. Then, if someone posts a pattern for a curvy, size 38 dress, anyone who fits that pattern can use it as is, and other members can use the How Tos to alter the pattern to fit them. We’ll see how we can get this grouping to work!

Emilykate, that’s a great suggestion! I was wondering about these problems as well, so I would love to see something like that!
