We partnered with San Francisco’s haven for all things DIY, TechShop, for the official West Coast launch of The BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook!
Guests could take party in activities ranging from a Make + Take booth with specially printed fabric from Spoonflower, wool felt slipper and bow tie tutorials with Britex Fabrics, fun and games with ModCloth, a fantastic LEGO jewelry booth with Instructables. Tasty snacks were provided by Creme Brulée Cart, The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, and Cynically Delicious Cupcakes; photos by Ricki Ward and The Photo Boof!

BurdaStyle’s Partnership Manager, Carol Cho, poses in the PhotoBoof! with Mena Trott from The Sew Weekly.

Spoonflower fabrics was on hand with specially printed fabric for our Make + Take drawstring bag sewing tables.

Along with the Make + Take tables, party guest could also make felt slippers with Britex Fabrics and LEGO jewelry with Instructables.

Co-author (and BurdaStyle co-founder) Nora Abousteit signs a book for a young sewing fan.

Clockwise from left: BurdaStyle’s Nora Aboutseit, Carol Cho and Susan Juvet; fabric enthusiasts get a first-hand look at the beautiful offerings from Britex; the Instructables booth was packed all night long (and check out that amazing Lite Brite!).
