Over a year in the making, The BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook has officially been released in the U.S. and we decided to celebrate by throwing a party at Housing Works in NYC! Friends, partners, contributors and BurdaStyle members (some even flew in from out of the country!) all came through for a great night of seeing new faces, catching up with old friends and celebrating our first publication.
Special thanks to SINGER® for making the party possible; Housing Works for the event space; Spoonflower for providing the fabric for our Make + Take booth; Megan Nicolay for her glitter tattoo skills; the great crew at Random House; the folks at Have Booth Will Travel and photographer Vanessa Rees for the awesome pictures; videographer John Sabia; and our amazing contributors, members, friends, and partners – you all made this an event to remember!

It looks like so much fun! I wish I could have gone… I’m so sad I missed that one. I’m still waiting for my garment to come along with the book (which looks bigger than what I imagined)… Also.. as my blouse is featured at the cover I demand to know who ate the cake portion with my design!!! was it any tasty?

What a fab looking party with so many fab looking party frocks. Loving Alison’s dress. Stunning. So sad to have missed it, but Sydney to New York was a little too far to travel for one night!!

I just received my BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook in mail yesterday and loving every page of it! Tons of good tips and cute design. I agree with others that I wish I could be at this party to celebreate such an accomplishment.
