I like to add texture with self-fabric (or toning) knots, twists and appliqué…….tho’ I am partial to an unusual button, or chain, or a strip of leather, or some lace, a few beads………………….

I like to use embroidery and applique to update worn items, and hide holes and stains. People always comment on how pretty it looks- little do they know there is a sauce stain under that bird! I can’t bear to throw anything pretty out, so I also always have little scraps of lace and lonely buttons to add onto projects which require a little bit extra.

I’d have to say hand beading and appliques that have been made on an embroidery machine. I like lace but in moderation.

So far I’ve only used very plain ribbons or a bit of beading lines or rows rather than leaves or vines, which I’d love, too!), and I’m planning to do some embroidery as soon as I get more practice! But I usually just put on beaded jewelry (read: necklace) and keep my clothes plain.

I am not too big on embellishments, but I love to use cute little buttons to complete a project =)

Bows and ribbons and rosettes. With a couple of beads in the centre, or perhaps a button. Although, I’m building up to adding piping to something. That would be excellent I think!
