This week’s styling pick is inspired by Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2014 collection. Check out this copycat bombshell look.

New York Fashion Week may be over for the season, but there are still plenty of gorgeous catwalks full of inspiration. This week’s pick is the Princess Seam Pencil Skirt, and it’s just the right piece to copycat my favorite look from Dolce and Gabbana’s latest collection.

This collection once again pulled inspiration from Sicily and Italian bombshells like Sophia Loren. I simply love this style. D&G’s spring collection featured literal takes on Sicilian art and architecture, like beautiful shoes etched to look like columns and frescoes. You can find Burda’s sophisticated riff on Italian cinema in the Screen Siren collection. The D&G collection is more fanciful, and also featured boxy cap sleeved blouses in lovely detailed prints.

This outfit could be work straight from the catwalk, which is sometimes a rarity! To get the same sophisticated pinup look at home, pair a silky blouse with a tight skirt and detailed high heel. The Retro Top tucked into the Princess Seam Pencil Skirt the perfect combo. Choose a silky fabric that feels luxurious against the skin and won’t add too much bulk tucked into the slim skirt. I love the D&G polka dots, but would probably pick a simpler print for the blouse.

The models in this show sported natural manicures, but I like the look of a black nail to go with such a pretty, feminine outfit. A flushed cheek and highlighted face are always part of the D&G look, so pat on a rosy cheek stain. The models in this show looked super dewy, and a little rosebud salve or liquid highlighter adds gleam to the eyes and cupid’s bow. Finish with a pink lip and sashay away!

I Looove this outfit!! It looks like it has a waistband and no other seams then side seams (and 2 top darts), but I do like the Burda pencil skirt pattern – just close the split, add a little to each seam on the hem, extend the hem, and add a slightly curved, wide frill. The high necked top goes so nicely with the skirt too
