We couldn’t help but fall in love with these soft, sweet styles and flattering silhouettes. Originally published in last year’s August edition of burda style magazine, this romantic collection is now available here on the site. Make yourself a cascade jacket or a flounce front blouse and slip into romance.

This edgy Leather Waistcoat features large lapels and a dropped waistline seam, a great addition to any outfit. Dress it down with a pair of skinny jeans or dressed it up with this truly feminine Rusched Panel Skirt.

Wear this V-Neck Dress to the office, belting it to give the illusion of separates, or wear it with your favorite necklace and heels for a night out on the town. This dress is so cool when made in two different complimentary fabrics, but for a more unified look cut the skirt and bodice in the same fabric.

This flowy Cascade Jacket is both casual and chic. When sewn in a stretch jersey, it is comfy to wear and a great alternative to a sweater. Pair the Cascade Jacket with the absolutely lovely Rusched Panel Skirt, it too can be worn to the office or out at night.

This Flounce Front Blouse is pretty and romantic. It has some great details like the front placket with flounce and a back yoke. You can easily wear this blouse with jeans and look chic, or tuck into the Paneled Skirt for a more refined look.

Every woman needs a basic Tank in their wardrobe, and this is just the right one. It has a nice silhouette with the bust darts and thick enough straps to conceal any undergarments. Pair under a jacket, sweater, or just wear on its own with a pair of slacks like the Side Button Trousers. These pants have many great features! The one side seam has a lovely button placket and the back darts shape a nice silhouette. Wear these with virtually anything in your wardrobe to add some fun and detail to any simple outfit.
Make yourself one or all of these styles and get ready for the cooler days to come while embracing the last days of august.
Happy sewing and happy end of summer!

Other than the leather coat and the palette I love everything! Shades of black is my thing and these would be beautiful in a different color palette.

Dare I say it…..the trousers almost look like they could be made from a quality cotton fleece as lounge pants or fancy track pants. Is it wishful thinking to want that level of comfort without sacrificing style?

As usual, I love every piece. I think you can turn most of these into evening wear with the right choice of fabric.

this was one of my favorite editorials- and one of my favorite issues. About a year before this, i had cut out a picture of a model wearing the couture version of the “V neck dress.” That’s my absolute favorite thing about Burda- getting designer style patterns.

I agree! The trousers are very cute. Do they have to be made in stretch fabrics?

in the magazine, view B is long shorts made from corduroy. In the recommended fabrics it just says, “trouser fabrics.”
I don’t know if that helps.
fyi- i always need at least 2% stretch in all my pants.

The pattern only has dart shaping at the back – I imagine that might be why they suggest stretch fabrics

I love those trousers! Though I’d like to be able to see how the back fits.
