Where would we be without our shadows?

There would be no shadow puppets, no ever-faithful companions on sunny excursions or shaded relief under a welcoming tree. A shadowless life is a scary thought indeed. For one little boy named Peter Pan, this thought became a reality when his tricky little shadow ran away from him.

Fortunately for him, a very skillful girl named Wendy was able to find it and sew it back on. This scene from Disney’s “Peter Pan” offers us another fine example of the importance of sewing skills. You never know when your shadow will run away from you :)

Seems to me, if I remember right, that Wendy also spent time darning socks for the Lost Boys…. :) So sewing is good for both shadows and socks!
