Skirts and practical craft items (this weekend I am finishing sleeves for my fine china), shirts and dresses generally take me a week to do since I only get to sew when the kids are asleep or busy doing other things.
Just in case the show staff is looking at these posts I suggest that you put up a quick fact sheet that covers adjusting thread tension and how to thread for shirring with elastic thread. There are so many awesome tutorials on Burdastyle for this technique-I learned how at Burda!!!

I love sewing for my three year old granddaughter. This smocked dress will be perfect for this spring/summer! Thanks for the link.

My favorite weekend project is spending it teaching my 8 year old daughter how to sew by hand and on the sewing machine. To keep it simple as we just started last year, we have been making pillows and doll dresses from socks and stretchy satin fabrics. I enjoy our weekend projects so much mainly because we are spending time together and because she’s told me sewing is her favorite thing to do and I am proud to teach her what I can! :)

Fun weekend projects for me are anything! I don’t get to sew much at school so whenever I can get my hands on my machine, I’m in Heaven!

My favorite weekend project is anything that I can make for my granddaughter to pop into the mail on Monday!

I like making simple kids clothes while watching TV on weekends. I save the hard stuff for weekdays.

My favorite weekend project? Any sewing project that’s challenging enough to push the boundaries of what I already know! That’s what I love about sewing; there’s always more to learn!

Well since I still haven’t order my very own sewing machine, I’m going home to another town to use my mother’s. And since I’m student I can go there only at the weekends, so I don’t think I have a weekend project, I just design and sew everything when I’m there and every project I finished became my favorite one.

Right now my favorite weekend sewing project is a quilt I’m making – my first one! When I finish this I will start working on small projects, such as fabric baskets or pencil cases that are always good to have at hand for my daughter and her friends.

I like making small things that I can finish easily because I don’t have so much time on the weekends. I recently made a drawstring bag for my sons construction kit, finished a dress that had been hanging around for ages and took in a skirt that was too big. Next weekend I shall be sewing snaps onto a kimono style jacket, and sewing together an elasticated skirt.

Any project I ACTUALLY complete without running to the store a dozen times!

I can sew only evenings, no matter if it’s weekday or weekend, so I sew as it comes, I don’t have any special favourite project for the weekend.

weekend is no different for me from the rest of the week, so whatever’s next in line!

I have been concentrating on sewing my summer wardrobe on the weekends…I’ve reconciled the fact that I’m a winter blah.

I am still at the novice stage of sewing, so my favourite weekend project usually involves finishing off garments for my Monday night sewing class! I also love embellishing at the weekends – sewing on hundreds of sequins & beads is not something I have time for during the week

My weekend projects are usually bag, purses, etc. I’m too fiddly slow sewing general garments to get one done in a weekend.
Jan 18, 2011, 09.42 AMby mayadaughterofsun
My favorite weekend project is to remake some boring clothes, t shirt reconstruction or making hand bags…depends on my mood.
Jan 18, 2011, 09.32 AMby Natasha Venzke
Up to now, I’ve almost only sewn things for my business. But I bought some fabric to make skirts for myself, so as soon as I get my machine back from it’s service I’m going to make some clothes for myself.

as it is still a little early for spring, my favorite weekend projects, at the moment, are making scarves.
Jan 18, 2011, 09.27 AMby carmencitab
There is no difference between sewing on the weekend or weekday sewing, I just sew. Once in a while, I’ll whip out a t-shirt refashion.

Any projct could be a weekend project for me. Depends when inspiration strikes…
Jan 18, 2011, 09.08 AMby himechan
I love trying out new projects that go straight to my wardrobe!! Right now, I;m focusing on making some staples like skirts and undies haha :)

Anything for my 3yo daughter is a weekend project, really, except maybe a coat. Or a skirt for me :)
Jan 18, 2011, 08.21 AMby veronika33
On the weekends I like to make simple, small garments that can be finished in two days.
