Weekends aren’t necessarily on the weekend for us because my husband and I both work in the medical field, but on my days off I love creating new things for my young kids. My three year old daughter loves to make stuffed dinosaurs, so we usually play around with how to make new satiny spikes, or or a ruffly frill for a new dino friend.

My favorite weekend projects are new clothes, however I am determined to finish all my works in progress before I buy another inch of new fabric and then I must, really truly must, figure out a blouse that fits my short, extremely busty torso comfortably. After that, I can get back to more new clothes!

I sew almost every day. Weekends I sew anything I’ve been inspired to make during the week, but not been able to sew. My favorite weekend projects are skirts & dresses because I love to turn a few yards of fabric into something beautiful & wearable!

My favorite weekend projects are those that I can finish and wear the next week. I like to do simple separates using the same pattern but with different coordinating fabrics that can be sewn with the same thread. For example, a solid and a coordinting print. This technique helps speed up sewing and gives me lots of options for putting together outfits.
