For this tutorial we are using our Bustier Top pattern. Download to sew along and make your own.

Step 1

Step 1: First sew and insert the bust parts …
Place the lower lower bust pieces on the right side of the side of the lower bust part, insert the seam (seam 1). Sew. Trim seam allowances back approx. 7 mm width. Press seam open.

Step 2

Step 2: Place the upper bust pieces on the upper edge of the sewn-together lower bust parts (close to seam 2). Sew. Trim the seam allowances and press open.

Step 3

Step 3: First place the bust cup section on the round under-edge of the front part on the right to the right from the corner (seam 3). Sew. Sew the front part to the corner until with the last stitch.

Step 4

Step 4: Place the front edge of the front part from the corner onto the bust part. Sew. Trim back the seam allowance to a width of 7 mm and press towards the bust. Then repeat the other bust like this.

Step 5

Step 5: … Then sew the side seams and assemble the bustier lining
On the right side of the front piece, sew the side seams. For the boning channel stitch 1.2 cm next to the first side seam. Sew the strap pieces, right sides together and flip to the right side. Pin and sew in place on the front bust cups. Sew the lining pieces of the bustier in the same manor of the body, omit the boning channel at the side seam.

Step 6

Step 6: Place the inner and outer bustiers right sides together matching up all outer edges. Sew together leaving a 15 cm opening at the lower front for turning and don’t sew over the bottom of the boning channels until you insert the boning. Also leave openings along the top back bustier edges for the marked straps. After you insert the boning sew bottom closed, clip all seam allowances and flip to right side through under bust opening. Try on bustier and fit straps through opening and flip bustier to wrong side just enough to sew the straps into place. Hand sew the lower front opening by hand and give a final press. Close the back with hook and eyes.

My favorite outfins^^ Love it! Good for everything: date, casual style walk and even mom’s birthday. And I know what I’m talking about because I write about fashion! I even wrote an essay about changes of fashion through history! You can take a look if you’re interested: essayvikings.com/archaeology-papers. Btw, like this article so much, so thanks for sharing!
