This is great :D
I am SO into this an will try to send a few. Are we supposed to use the exact pattern or can we go a little crazy with the bowties? As long as they’re somehow wearable it should be fine, right?
Can’t wait to get back home and start working on them :P

ParaNoire: Go crazy if you like! Maybe that will get a higher price at the auction! We’re looking forward to seeing you creations:)

Are the only colors allowed black and pink, or may we add small details in white too? :) Also, is every kind of pink allowed, like light pink and fuchsia and peach etc. or just pink-pink?

I’d also like to know about the color schemes acceptable, and weather the tie can only be sewn or are other medias okay too.
Will there be pictures and information about the ties and what was bid for them?

I was curious as to whether or not this was a member’s only deal. I know that people at my mom’s work who would love to do this because the whole office loves doing charity, especially for cancer-related organizations.
Also- can you do patterned fabric on your bowtie? I saw this pink Japanese chirimen that I think would be absolutely awesome for a bowtie and I’m only waiting so I can find out whether or not it is okay to use it.

This is absolutely available for anyone who would like to do it, they don’t have to be members. Yes you can use any color pink also I believe it is fine if there are details in other colors as long as the main colors are pink and or black. I hope that has answered everyone’s questions!

Count me in too. I’ve got the pattern and am heading out to get some fabric.
Do I need to pledge a definite number right now or however many I mange to get done by deadline?
Thanks…

Help!! Does anyone know where I can purchase the metal sliders needed for the bow ties? I have ties partially made and cannot find the sliders anywhere in my area! I’ve tried to search online and end up finding tons of sliders for webbing, which are too big. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I think I’d prefer to make a tie without the metal hooks, i.e. the way I see at most vintage shops. I hope that’s ok. As long as the tie is not too decorated, I don’t think it should be a problem. Is there a rule in place on this?

My 3 got mailed in today-hope they are OK to use. Never made bow ties before. BTW if you have trouble finding sliders like I did, I ended up at the thrift store and bought 3 big old bras with wide straps and cut them off of there. So I recycled and supported the thrift store to boot!
