In my opinion the best part about summer is that it leads into fall. I suppose I enjoy a warm day and an afternoon at the beach as much as the next girl, but there is something about the crisp breezes and rich colors of fall that no other season can touch. Another reason I love fall is because I still associate it with “Back to School”. While I haven’t personally had to hit the books in a few years, whenever the leaves start to turn I always find myself getting a bit nostalgic for classic campus style.

It seems I’m not the only one affected by this either. From the rising popularity in tried and true Americana style to the release of the sequel to “The Preppy Handbook”, polos, khakis and dress jackets are once again finding their way into the greater fashion subconscious. As a way to keep the look updated and fresh (think more Band of Outsiders, less dinner at the country club), opt for trousers in looser boyfriend cuts , experiment with patterned and textured fabric for your jackets and don’t be afraid to put a new spin on a classic, like our Judy skirt with asymmetrical pleats.

Love the orange skirt. It seems that here in Wales we are already in fall, it’s cold, grey and rainy. These pics makes me think that it’s not so bad though- bring on the “back to school” look!

i do like prep. but I tend to put a spin on it by making it retro prep and wearing a nice tailored jacket with a polo and a retro high waisted skirt with a rockabilly hairstyle!

Would love to see the polo shirt (113A) in larger sizes.
