I was so excited to see a new retro pattern in the May 2014 issue of Burda Style magazine, and even more excited to see that it was this refined Retro Wrap Blouse.
This blouse pattern was reinterpreted from the burda archives and it still lovely for modern day! It is wrapped, shirred and oh so refined. It features overlapped sleeves, a V-neckline with front flounce and a buttoned closure that secured the wrapped ends in place. Not also to mention how flattering it is on all body types, a wrap style is always slimming as well as semi covered sleeves.
Above I have styled this blouse in two ways, one for a more casual look and the other for a dressier affair. Both these looks would be office appropriate too! On the left I choose to pair the blouse with our flared skirt that also has a nod to retro style. And with the blouse on the right I went with our shimmery lamé skirt. In the future I would actually sew a skirt or a pair of sleek pants in the same fabric as a blouse to make a suit.
