BurdaStyle RESTYLE series: the SHAKIRA dress from Susanna Locascio on Vimeo.
Introducing the first behind the scenes video from our BurdaStyle RESTYLE photo shoot. This week we feature Alden in our newly modified Shakira tunic dress. We tore off the sleeves, hemmed the armhole, took in some girth, chopped off some length and cinched the waist. See our team of talented people make this dress come alive again!
The beauty of making clothes is that a pattern block contains myriad possibilities. There is so much potential locked within our patterns, and we are excited to show you a new way to look at them. Interspersed with our new patterns, we will be showing you RESTYLED patterns from the past. Today we kick it off with the restyled Shakira dress. Shakira was our first ever plus-size pattern. We’ve gone back into the vaults to give this old pattern a bold new look with contemporary revisions. Available in sizes 46-60, the simple tunic-like shape makes this a versatile pattern for alterations.

I love doing photo shoots……..as long as I’m not the model! I had to step in once and never again, standing in poses is not easy work. Kudos, to you Aden!

Great video, love it! It’s so much fun to see Alden and members of the team[I suppose:)] not only on the pics but also through video-it’s real. For my it’s a chance to know you better because I’m from Poland, and it’ll be hard to go to USA. More such videos:) Greets!
