Wow, these are gorgeous summer dresses. One day I aim to be able to create my own designer wardrobe of enviable pieces like these, by the time I get round to it I imagine I’ll be a trend-setting old lady :)

Wow this is probably one of the best collection of dresses I’ve seen Burda highlighting since I joined! And for once, there are offerings for ALL body types!!! And now I am even more inspired to try my hand at some of them!

I made the dress with the elastic waist last year, and I’m very happy with it, I have a plan to make the dress with the knot front, but first I want to finish a dress I started last summer. I also like the cap sleeve dress. Sometimes I’m a bit overwhelmed by all these lovely patterns I would like to make, but unfortanetly don’t have the time for,…

The cap sleeve dress, absolutely hands down my favourite. The V-neck dress is a distant second.

The three aquamarine print dresses are all from May 2011 BurdaStyle. Loved the fabric choices used by the magazine staff-wish such fabric could be found in stores in Canada! Such fabric is inspiring to Burda’s international readers…seriously lovely fabric!

Good choice ! If you have a look on the website, you’ll see that it is a very popular model and there are lots of lovely versions of this dress going round. I have used this pattern several times and love it ! Enjoy

These are all great dresses, but I am amazed there aren’t more patterns available for a simple, basic, shift style dress with multiple neckline treatments. With every talk show and entertainment celeb wearing these great dresses with the most interesting neckline treatments, why aren’t there more patterns for this simple, yet unbelievably versatile silhouette? The variations one could create from such a basic silhouette are endless and would be such great fun to make!

I love the knot-front dress, will absolutely make it and have a lovely striped fabric in mind. I have already made the A-line dress (knee length) and the cap sleeve dress with a modified skirt. I definitely recommend the cap sleeve dress, the bodice is just perfectly drafted.
