See pieces from our favorite Pre-Fall 2014 collections, and the Burda pieces to make them your own!
Pre-Fall collections are always a fun distraction from winter weather. Without the craziness of fashion week, you can really focus on the clothes and pick out a few new trends to look for in the coming season. Our favorites so far? Short and sexy takes on wrap dresses, menswear dressed up with prints, and mixing casual jackets with formal wear.
After their punk-y 2013 fall collection, Versace took a girlier turn for pre-Fall 2014. I love the modern seventies feel of this lilac outfit. Our Infinity Mini Skirt has a nearly identical folded look. Faux fur isn’t for me, but the Bomber Jacket in a black satin would have the same vintage bad girl feel. Get the look on the right with a Wrap Dress and embellished stiletto heels. Our version of the structured shoulder has soft gathers.

Another pre-Fall trend we’re loving is menswear inspired outfits with patterned pants. A bright jacquard print keeps tomboy separates from looking too masculine. Try the look yourself with the Baroque Pants, Everyday Trousers, or Straight Pants with Pockets in a bright gabardine print or jacquard. The Jacquard Bomber Jacket and Pocket Shirt finish the look on top.

Designers also paired casual jacket silhouettes with buttoned up skirts and formal gowns. If you are going to a formal event, take a page from Burberry and throw a leather jacket over your dress instead of a shawl. The look is effortless and cool, and gives a whole different feel to a luxe piece like the Satin Evening Gown. Oscar de la Renta showed polished skirt suits with unexpected zippered jackets. The Asymmetrical Moto Jacket would look totally different in brightly colored wool. Or, sew up the popular Larissa jacket!
Have you been keeping up with the pre-Fall collections? It can get overwhelming to keep up, but more inspiration is always better!
