Has anyone been following the Spring/Summer 2010 collection presentations? I normally do not start salivating until the circuit reaches Paris where the dreams of the likes of Lanvin, Balenciaga, Comme des Garcons, Martin Sitbon come to life in a live pulsating masquerade. It appears to me, after studying the runways thus far, that black is the new black, & black is back. At times my favorite color (my boyfriend jokes with me that it is not a color, I retort that black is indeed every color), I was also excited to see some wild prints with ethnic influences (Vivienne Westwood), more florals (Stella McCartney)- some digitalized, some abstract, obscure layering of various textured textiles (Preen).

What have you seen that you LOVE? Do you want to see more color or more monotones in fashion? Who are your favorite designers?

My next favorite of the season is Alexander McQueen. I know it’s more custume-y than RTW, but I absolutely love it. He is incredibly imaginative and this collection was no exception. It’s always a treat to see what he comes up with.

The second picture (Nude satin kimono) looks gorgeous, I think that style would look good on anyone. Has anyone noticed how scarily thin the models are? Its depressing.

Mark Fast chose ’plus size ’ models (UK 14) for his London fashion week show. Sadly the dresses he put them in were an acquired taste. A round of applause for the idea though Mr Fast.

I have always loved the use of colour instead of black and nudes instead of white. Black is for funerals, and I’ve seen far too many of them in the past 5 years. I will only wear black for work as part of my uniform or in jeans (Anything that isn’t blue is good in jeans, in my opinion, blue is difficult to dress up)

My favorite designer has always been Mariella Burani. Stunning creations in every season.

I hadn’t really been paying much attention this year either… I’ve just been focusing on my line, but now I’m a itching to see what’s out there and what’s to come from Paris. The Alberta Feretti pieces are very cute!

I haven’t been stalking style.com as much this season, but so far my favorite (outside my usual favs) from NY for Spring 2010 is Philosophy di Alberta Feretti. I love the eyes and mouths floating on all the sheer layers. It’s very fun.
