Pantone has picked the official color of 2012: Tangerine Tango! Orange was a huge presence on the Spring 2012 runways and we pulled together a few of our favorite tangerine tinged fashion moments to get you inspired to try this shade in your future sewing and design projects.

I’ll probably make a skirt or dress. But a safe thing to do would be a nice tangerine linen or silk scarf.

I’m sorry but this color looks like a designer was arrested on crack and before he could come down completely recycled the entire prisons wardrobe. Small touches of this color might be ok but the rest just look like prison uniforms. Hidious!!

I would love to try it as a lining or a bag but not as a main piece as red/orange hair does not go well with orange!

I have to say, tangerine is not an easy colour to pull off. Those who look good in it and use it well do look fantastic, but finding the right shade of orange for someone is really hard. I won’t be wearing it, as a pale-skinned blue eyed blonde orange doesn’t look good on me.

I used to have to wear an orange uniform, so that’s all I can equate the colour to in my mind, it’s s hurdle I don’t see moving. So, instead I am opting for orange accessories, nail polishes, necklaces and the like.

I don’t know, don’t think I could pull off that color. But if you can go for it the color itself is awesome!

I love tangerine! Unfortunately I feel it doesn’t really suit me very well. I usually try to opt for coral…
