The whimsy and romance of fall dressing is here with these jackets, blouses, and loose fitting dresses. These designs are from the August 2010 issue of Burda Style magazine. All instructions for previously published patterns have been updated.

Sporty meets feminine in this Blouson Jacket with an asymmetrical closure, outside pockets, and epaulettes. The high stand up collar keeps you warm.

_122 and 125

The Dress with Lace Trim is prettier than an English garden. This dress has tiny pleats at the front, back and shoulders and is accented with fluttery ribbons at the bust. The straight cut and gathered long sleeves have that romantic baby doll look that goes so well with oxfords or boots. Take it into fall with the Oversized Jacket that looks pulled right from your boyfriend’s closet.

Wear this flirty Double Layer Camisole under a cardigan, on its own, or as lingerie. Diagonal seams and a lovely ruffled neckline add visual interest to this wardrobe essential. Ribbon straps are hand tied for a flirty touch.

_123

Get that rocker chick look with a pair of Leather Leggings. These skinny pants go with everything, from tee shirts to party tops.

_126 and 108

Give your outfit that tomboy Annie Hall look with a menswear inspired Oversized Vest and the Skinny Pinstripe Pants. These pants have front and back pockets, an ankle length hem, zips at the inseam for a little extra detail.

_121

The Boho Dress is perfect for hippies and relaxing late summer afternoons. Sheer fabric is layered and gathered at the front and back for a whimsical look. The sleeves are gathered and the body is cut straight for a 60s feeling.

_127

What could be more feminine than an leopard print Pencil Skirt? This knee length skirt is sectioned for the best fit with a high waist and hidden side zipper.

_119

A Peasant Blouse with Tie Front is pretty for evening. The scoop neck is edged with ruffles and the generous length can be altered into a tunic or trapeze top. Little cap sleeves and a tie detail finish it off.

_120 and 124

Long puffed sleeves have Victorian elegance in the Blouse with Neck Sash. This pretty top has a fantasy look thanks to the long neck scarf and shoulder epaulettes. Pair it with a pair of vintage looking High Waisted Trousers with front pleats and tapered legs.

This collection has traces of different eras so you can put together fanciful looks. Sheer fabrics and layering pieces like vests and jackets are the transitional pieces you’ll need to take your wardrobe from late summer to early fall.

Happy sewing!

Shouldn’t there be a trigger warning for images of clowns?

I wish the photos would actually let you see the clothes in stead of poses!

If you click on an item and go to the pattern page, there is a picture you can look at of the garment on a mannequin.

Ok, just so that we are all on the same page. Display mannequins do not portray realistic body proportions. What I would like to see is a garment on a human standing straight and facing me. That simple.
