Dark floral prints, feminine details like ruffles and shirring, and a cool layering style work together for trendy fashion with a touch of 90s flair. Romance is definitely in the air for this collection from the 09/2017 issue of BurdaStyle Magazine.

This dress is perfect for the proportions of petite women. The cropped sleeves are finished with a fabric band and the narrow tying belt at the waistline is a look that is also quite modern when worn over jeans as shown here. For those who find the slit too daring, simply sew on a small snap or a clasp closure on the inside.

A fashion favorite of the 90s gets a new look for autumn with a floral velvet and a gathered skirt panel. The fresh style statement: Keep the look from being too relaxed and update it with a proper starchy blouse underneath.

111

This has the look of a skirt and top – kicked up a notch! The dress has a sleek look on top with one pleat to accent and a skirt sewn with a pre-pleated fabric whose subtle printed pattern peeks through with every motion as a fun surprise.

A romantic vision to behold thanks to the high-neck dress that features a tying band and delicate ruffles. An abundance of panels provides the potential for playful fabric combinations – keeping in mind that at least one color or pattern element should be repeated to keep the unified look. This style has a mature look when sewn as a solid color option.

Despite the high neckline, this shirt is oh-so-sexy! The asymmetric upper bodice panel creates a shoulder cutout and an exposed zipper in back are fun details that make it also a cool style when worn with worn-in denim jeans.

108

The body hugging cut for this turtleneck dress with the sharp shoulder cutout gets a sultry look when sewn with a wonderfully shifting velvet fabric.

It’s true, this jacket with the standing collar, rivet decorated welt pockets and quilted shoulder yokes is quite a bit of work. You will find it a great lasting style to wear year after year that will add a richness to (almost) every outfit. We promise!

The soft flow of this blouse with its lovely oriental print is one that you will reach for often. The shirring with elastic at the neckline draws the focus, as do tying bands at the sleeve hem to wrap the sweeping sleeves to a point. The closely fitted shirred standing collar neckline is a beautiful counter-balance to the cascading silhouette.

103

Deep pleats let the sequins shine beautifully in a light and dark sparkle. A fine mesh underskirt with a narrow band lines the skirt to hold the flat drape as well as to keep the fabric from clinging to hosiery.

101

One shirt with two ways to wear it: The cosy XL-style with zippers at the side seams can be worn on its own or with the shrug worn to cover the shoulders. The shrug works naturally as well as a solo piece or when worn over a blouse or dress.

Oooh! I love that shrug set! But I might use a more fitted sweater pattern.

I like the shoulder cutout garments as well. I would be sure to wear a bra with halter or crisscross straps.
