Oh, Prom. I turn a little red, at least on the inside, when I think about Prom. To start with, I, the Anti-Prom girl, talked my way onto the Prom Queen ballot via my friendship with the Student Council kids. It started off as a joke, but then I wore a tiara and a purple dress and was disappointed when I didn’t win.
The purple dress I bought for $40 at my favorite thrift store. I probably paid another $40 in alterations. I wasn’t used to such a low-cut neckline, and my girlfriend alerted me to a nip-slip wardrobe malfunction at dinner before the boys noticed.
Senior Prom was the only big dance I attended, and I’m glad I did. I want to go to another one so I can pick a different outfit, and have someone give me a corsage again!
