1. my First ever sewing machine, i’ve had now for 20 years. wow and it still works, and i still use it. my mom got it from a spiegel catalog and it was a combined birthday ( in april) and xmas gift( december) ..i got the machine in september of that year..go figure!
2. i am the first owner of that machine, and even though its missing a few parts, i can never get rid of her. she has been with me through many craft fails and craft triumphs. im currently hunting down the web to search of the missing parts i have lost over the years.

I have had my machine for about 25 years and it still runs great. It is the first machine I ever bought brand new, the others I had were hand me downs from family members. It is a Bernina and does everything I need, I have only bought extra feet to change the original functions, when I started to quilt.

I’ve had my first sewing machine for 13 years, a Kenmore, and it’s the machine I still use. It was a Birthday gift from my parents and its gotten much use over the years and is much loved. I got it new, so yes, I am the orinigal owner and while I might replace it someday, I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it.

My first sewing machine was a Kenmore too, which I received as a graduation from high school present. I loved mine too; it was all metal, very heavy-duty! I did get rid of mine about 10 yrs ago…I regret it now.

I got my sewing machine in High school when I was working at Hancock fabrics. I made my prom dress on this machine and displayed it in the store, which means I didn’t have to pay for the materials. How I loved telling people that my prom dress was free! I also made my sister’s prom dress, another sisters wedding dress, and my wedding dress on my simple little New Home. I have had it now for 6 1/2 years :)
I am the first owner of the machine, but it was not my first. I started on my mom’s old Kenmore then moved on to a Singer that had been through a fire. When I got my New Home I was ecstatic to be able to have my own sewing machine in my bedroom!

I bought my sewing machine when I was 16 years old it cost 100.00 brand new not high end and some of the features are now broken but it still does the basics so I continue to use it. I have had it for almost 23 years. I am the original owner it was purchased of all places Costco in Visalia, California not the place I would ever recommend buying a machine but it was what I could afford.

I’ve had my sewing machine about a year and no, I’m not the first owner. The previous owner was a design student. She’d used it for 5 years and sold it because she could afford a professional one. It cost 50€.

My mom and sisters bought me my first sewing machine for my 23rd birthday. It’s been 3 years (I just turned 26!). It’s a great little learning machine, very simple, but awesome for basic stitches and it gets the job done!

1.- My mother has always sewn, even though I’ve never given too much importance to the issue and even though I wanted to learn how much he insisted. Disincentive to see if it gave me a small sewing machine, the simpler and cheaper, while some stitches do not work. Despite having in my home sewing machine from the 15 years I started to sew up this summer … I love it! 2.- Well … the answer to the second question is yes, is a new sewing machine that use … with 18 years old ….

How long have you had your sewing machine? Are you the first owner?
1. I don’t have a sewing machine. I am helplessly using my mothers. She has not yet officially handed that old Singer over to me. I beg, I pray, I plead, I cry, I demand, I argue, I try getting a new one. To no avail. Back in Ireland, my granmother came home one day when my mother was only 14 and had purchased this sewing machine for her. God knows why, since my mother had never sewn a button. And there it was: Singer and its wooden base. Now it lives in my parent’s house in Italy and I need to travel 100Km from Milan everytime I need to make clothes. The trick it to cut and tack several items, then go to the sewing machine and (on its better days) cram in a sewing session.
2. At the time (6000 bc) it was new.

My mother was always sewing, so I naturally thought I would love it too. Wrong! At least when I first started though. I tried sewing in jr. high, hated it! Got a “D” in the class. LOL Tried again, when I was first married at 18. Liked it a little bit more than before. But never finished anything I started because I couldn’t stand to do hand work (hems, etc.) Okay, now to the good part! Tried again while pregnant with my second child, and fell in love with it!! I believe I had become a little more patient than I was at 18. Now in my 50’s (oh my), I sew all the time. Clothes for the grandchildren, quilts, curtains, crafts! And yes, I do finish the small things! Lovin’ it! My first machine was at 18, back in ’75. One of those that are in cabinet where the machine will drop down. Second was just an old one someone gave me. So now I have 2, one for back up. I also have a very old one that I bought from an antique store. Also I have started collected the old “toy” ones that were for children, from back in the ’50s or 60s. Funny story, on our last anniversary, my husband took me for a surprise. He wanted to buy me a pair of diamond earrings (nothing too expensive). I looked at him and said, as much as I love you for wanting to get me these. I would rather just have a new sewing machine. I thought he would faint!

My parents bought me a used Singer Featherweight when I was a freshman in college. That was 39 years ago. It’s still sewing and sews a beautiful straight stitch. I’ve made clothing, curtains, quilts, pillows and done a fair share of mending. My parents purchased the sewing machine at an estate sale in Memphis, TN for $50. I learned to sew on my Mother’s featherweight that she purchased during WWII. So now I pamper both machines. I love my Featherweights.

People who sew for others do so with magic in their hearts! I’ve been sewing for 45 years now. Still on the same old 1952 Singer machine! (I’m not the original owner, not quite that old!)

The sewing machine I have now I bought brand new in 2000, The one I had before was bought in 1977, and it still runs great. I was the first owner on both, and don’t want to part with either one….they are a part of me! The one I use right now has a couple parts that broke during a move, but it still keeps humming!

I was dating this guy about over a year ago and he was completely in love with me. I wasn’t however but once he found out my last sewing machine broke he quickly picked up his passing mother’s machine and dropped it at my doorstep.

1. I bought my sewing machine 18 years ago! It’s been pretty faithful to me.
2. I am the first owner of the machine.

I’m not exactly positive how long I’ve had this machine…. since under grad, so I’ll say at least 8 years. It is actually my second machine, the first I had for a few years prior. My first machine was my mothers old Kenmore, and this second machine was my Aunt’s old Kenmore. They are basically the same machine with a few minor differences. This one has more cams and button hole options. My Aunt got my grandmother’s machine when she passed away (the machine I learned to sew on when I was 8) and so I got my Aunt’s machine. So I was the 2nd owner for both machines. I love my Kenmores, but I would love a new machine with even more fancy stitch options!

I’ve had my current sewing machine for almost exactly a year. I cannot believe how much I have sewed on it in that amount of time! I bought it refurbished so I’m not sure if I am the first owner!

I’ve had my sewing machine for almost two years, it was a Christmas gift from my mom the year before last. So that would also make me the first owner. It’s a good machine that gets the job done, but I am in need of a higher quality one!

I have my actual machine from 2 years, and I’m the first owner. But I’m also the owner of a Singer sewing machine dated 1936, inherited from an aunt of my mother.

I have had my current machine for 1 year. It’s an industrial Singer that my mom bought in 1985, I believe. I just moved it into a new apartment. Let me tell you…that thing is HEAVY.

sounds like my first machine.. I bartered with a friend for it, then my sister lost her eyesight to diabetes one month after getting a brand new machine and gave it to me. My husband threw away the first monsterously heavy one when we had to move in to an upstairs apt when the kids were little so he wouldn’t have to carry it up the stairs.

I have had my sewing machine for just a couple of months. It’s a SInger from the early 40’s that was in the basement of a church my husband does odd jobs for. They were going to throw it out, but my he rescued it for me and fixed it up. I have no idea how long it was in the basement or who else might have owned it!

I have had my sewing machine for about four years. It’s a Bernina 230 and I love love love it! I had been sewing on hand-me-down machines that didn’t work well. The Bernina is new.

1. I have had my sewing machine for 19 years now. It’s a Singer Disc-O-Matic. I have four girls and when they were little I sewed all their dresses using Burda patterns and my faithful sewing machine. I also sewed pillowcases, curtains, everything with it. It has given me great service and I love it although it looks old and some of the parts are broken.
2. It was my mother’s sewing machine for about 15 years. She gave it to me when she got a new one. I didn’t realize my sewing machine is almost 34 years old now.
