Find find sewing inspiration from everything around me. My family, nature, and also BurdaSTYLE! :) I like to look at runway shows and get color or design ideas and modify them for the real women.

I look at BurdaStyle A LOT to get inspiration. The number of projects added to my favorites keeps growing… I occasionally buy Glamour magazine (in Hungarian so it helps me learn the names of different fabrics too as well as showing the new fashions). I love watching Gossip Girl – the clothes on there are beautiful and inspiring.

I definitely got started thanks to free patterns on Burdastyle, and I’ve since found myself going to a lot of books for ideas. Sometimes the simplest lines in Zakka and Japanese clothing patterns allow for individual flourishes:) I also love the website True Up just for keeping up to date with new fabrics and designers!

My inspiration comes from many places; BurdaStyle, Nordstrom, the blogs i follow. When i see a particular thing i like i’ll take it and make it my own or just use the elements from it I like (pleating, or pintucks you name it)

Inspiration comes from a lot of different places – Burda Style’s obviously been a big one, there are some amazing creations here! Very often, shops where I just can’t afford the clothes lend a lot of inspiration! There’s one label in particular that has some nice designs but always does them in horrible fabrics and put a huge price tag on them, always makes me want to re-make them.

Shops, blogs, Burda style, photos of people in general, friends… it´s easy for me to be inspired, but it takes a lot of time to get ideas to be realized :).

I find BurdaStyle for alot of inspiration. I have only limited time to actually sew things.. although I love it so much.. it is so therapeutic. I have found so many projects on here that are just amazing.. and I love looking at the different variations the community comes up with when Burda puts out a new pattern.

it depends on what I am sewing.. I get some inspiration from the rockabilly era.. I love the circle skirts. I love the 80’s leg warmers that just came out.. they are so cute! I really like some of the formal dresses I come across on here.

For me sewing is a great way to relieve tension and stress. I have a very demanding job.. the assistant to 7 shareholders of an accounting firm including the president.. and I have 2 kids.. and guardianship of my 16 yr old sister. Also revamping our 1926 craftsman home.. So finding the time is usually late in the evenings when the house is quiet.

If I had more time I would make so much more!

Inpiration comes from Burdastyle. I started downloading patterns from this site that were easy and attractive. I also love my Burda magazine and look at them to get in the groove of sewing. I am also a reality TV addict. I love to watch Project Runaway or Launch my Line type shows.

My main inspiration is BurdaStyle and WardrobeRefashion, but also the many many personal blogs I read. I have a small collection of sewing magazines and books, but I use them more to help me out when I’m already inspired than the other way around. Though I must say I have enjoyed the crafty section in old BWOF’s… I also just like to check out other people’s style on the streets to see what I like and what not. Now if only all this inspiration would result into something…

I love looking through magazines like sew-hip and stitch for ideas, I adore handmade items that have a luxury feel or extra stitching details, construction and quirky or unique features. I also find sites like craftster, burdastyle and the sewing forum so helpful, friendly and inspiring.

My inspiration comes to sew on Fashiontv, magazine Burda, millions of websites, magazine Apart, magazine Ателье. . . . The most important source of inspiration is the boss and my job. At work I see every day so many new and interesting models that have not patience to get the weekend to sew something for me. I believe that the professions of tailor, designer and modelier are the most intelligent and that offers many joys of others. I am very pleased that we completed this particular specialty. I wish all the inspiration, patience to accomplish the projects started. poscript Burdastyle is a good site, here I found many useful things, achievable. Ever since I discovered this site I became addicted to it as the Russians are addicts “odnoklassniki”!! (is a complemet) Sorry for my broken English, but I used an online translator because they do not know English. Natalia from MOLDOVA :) :) :) :) :) :)

If I’m completely lost you cant go past a Google Images search – but you have to be careful to not just copy things! To find real innovative inspiration I try looking at complementary subjects like architecture, mathematics, origami, natural forms, people on the streets.

And I favourite stuff for future reference on Burdastyle of course!

BurdaStyle is definitely my new favorite. I will also look at blogs. Especially sew retro. Inspiration really comes from seeing others’ finished projects.

I read street style websites from around the world, and they’re a great source of inspiration. I’ve also started looking at clothes (in stores, real life) much more carefully since I started sewing to learn about how things are made.

I find inspiration everywhere! In department stores, on other people, online, and even in nature when I’m feeling especially creative. I use Burdastyle more than anything, but I also visit lots of apparel store websites and their catalogs as well. Jcrew, Anthropologie, and Ann Taylor are my favorites as of late.

I find inspiration from my gran, who was an amazing seamstress and made many of my clothes growing up and also from my friends and family who make things – especially my new sister-in-law who I wish I could sew/dye/embroider/make with much more.

I get project ideas from tv shows (the women on bones wear amazing things sometimes), blogs, stores (especially anthropologie), vintage clothes/bags, burda, and my cute, stylish friends.
