I am still learning what I can do with different fabrics, but so far cotton is the top choice.

Cottons. Easy to work with, versatile, breathable, and come in so many finishes and weaves. There is (usually) always a place for a cotton in any project or occasion.

I enjoy working with silky satins (the material just flows and offers gorgeous movement) and cotton blends (they offer plenty of comfort especially in the heat of Texas here). I usuually use very colorful fabrics, whether its the a single solid color or a pattern fabric, the colors have to be fun, young, and brilliant as I usually make outfits and costumes for my daughter. I myself love using black and white solids and patterns with one element of color, just to give it that Splash! of fun while at the same time keeping proffesionalism in my look. I also love fabrics with interesting texture. Its sounds like I’m all over the place but I am dressing two individuals. Kids have to be more bright and fun while I, as an adult, need to be still fun but in a more subtle and more simple way.

I love cotton, of course because its so versatile. I make bags so thicker is better. but so many beautiful cotton;s are more wavy and thin and then you think – sure I can dabble in something less sturdy and more feminine and usually because you like the pattern so much it works a treat.
So fo me its cotton in all its sizes, styles and colours!
