Oh good gracious, I can’t even begin to guess. I have crafting ADD; I get totally obsessed with one thing (at the moment it is embroidering), which I do nonstop for a few months, and then I get bored and move on to something else. Woe befalls the half-finished project that sits for a year or more—until I cycle back to that hobby and pick it up again!
Oh, I did just remember that I still have the first skein of yarn I ever bought, when I learned how to knit 7 years ago. It has been half-knitted several times, but has yet to be completed into anything. Maybe one day I’ll have a lovely scarf or something!

I’ve been making a quilt for my bed now for about a year and it’s nowhere near finished.

Of course I have unfinished projects just like I think we all do where you just lose the vision. Mostly I finish all projects within a month because I just get in the ZONE!!!

I have a knitted scarf that I’ve been working on for about four years. I put it aside and forget about it. Then when I come back to work on it, I have to relearn the stitches. One of these days I’ll finish it.

I try to forget about those projects that I just can’t seem to finish. I am guessing my oldest UFO is about 15 years old. Sad but true. Reminds me of the yellow afghan my mom started knitting when I was about 5. Still run across it from time to time, waiting patiently on the needles.

I thought a year was my longest until I pulled some things out of storage at my parents house. Neglected since my high school years I’m ashamed to say lol

Well, I have a couple of projects I started years ago, lost interest in, and still haven’t finished. As for things I worked steadily on, I think it has to be my hand knit shrug. It is my biggest knitting project to date, and took me about 5 months of knitting in my free time to finish.

I found a box in the back of the garage with patterns and a sewing project (cut out and never started). It was there from our last move—15 years ago. Just finished it a few days ago.

I’m with Patalie! I have so many unfinished craft projects, it’s hard to count them all.
One year, I started a hand-embroidered pillow in late January as a Valentine’s gift for my boyfriend and he didn’t get it until August. But… we also celebrate Christmas in February, so I guess it wasn’t so late after all!

I’ll let you know when I actually finish it. Once people start hounding me for items that I was making them as a gift I just lose all interest. So far hubby has been hounding for his gloves for 3 years and he still only has one. I have a whole lot of single socks too. Guess I should learn how to knit 2 at a time LOL.

hmmmm… i started a skirt, then put it away about ten years ago. This summer I unpacked some sewing boxes and finally finished it!!!! Normally i am pretty disciplined and won’t begin something too big unless my other projects are completed.

Does never finishing count? Probably not, in that case it was about a year and a half. I had borrowed my mom’s sewing machine, it broke and I had to wait until I had enough money to repair it. then I finished my project. I was just trying to hem up some curtains….sigh

Generally, I takes me months to end a project, because I always begin news projects at the same time so…

10 years! And it’s still not finished! It is a fabulous project for my brother’s wedding. They may get it for an upcoming anniversary.

That’s to be determined… I’ve been working on Alice Starmore’s Na Craga sweater for about two years now! It’s supposed to be an easy aran sweater, but apparently easy isn’t easy enough for me. :) Down to just a sleeve left to be knitted, so maybe 2012 is the year?!

I started knitting a hooded suit for a baby and she was too big for it by the time I finished so I had to give it to another friend’s baby!

The longest it’s taken me to finish a project is a year…I moved & the project languished in a box.
