Fabric! Beautiful fabric and textiles are what inspire me to sew. I could spend hours in a fabric store just looking and touching. I usually buy the fabric before deciding what to make.

I love the thrill of getting to answer “I made it” when someone asks me where I got it :) I love feeling of victory when I master a pattern.

Ideas! The only way to stop my head buzzing with ideas is to actually create what’s buzzing around in there. An HOW cool is it to be able to take a flat piece of fabric and turn it into something 3 dimensional and beautiful, with it’s own personality and purpose?!

I love to sew because there are no limits to what I can create. If I can dream it up, I can find a way to create it.

I’m inspired to sew by everything, I see something I have to make and I’ll go forth and make it! I love to be able to express myself through sewing, it’s a wonderful freedom and when you’re done you feel like you’ve accomplished a lot.

My passion for beautiful things inspires me. The beauty that you can create with your own hands makes me believe that to make something that beautiful you can do anything. You don’t have to have crazy over the top fabrics or trimmings to make something beautiful. Some thing beautiful can be as simple as a Bottle green woollen shift dress or as crazy as a Vivienne Westwood ball gown. Simpleness is how I sew as I don’t have enough money to buy top of the range fabrics or accessories, but I can always dream… And I love creating the ideas that pop into my head and thinking “I’ll never be able to make that!” Then actually being able to create it and being able to tell people that I made it and I thought up that idea. I love the process of going into a shop, seeing the beautiful, quality fabric and just thinking up an idea to match the fabric, not fabric to the idea. It is a feeling that completes me. And my family have been sewing through the generations and have encouraged me on and given me all the support I need.
