The most important thing is fit. It can be well made but if it looks terrible on you won’t wear it.

it’s all about the fit! flatters your good bits, hides the not so good bits, lol

The fit, definitely the fit!
Dec 3, 2011, 05.05 PMby myleeann
The fabric!

The perfect dress is one that fits comfortably, made with easy to care for fabric. It shouldnt have details on it that are prone to snagging or falling off, but maybe that has to do with workmanship and materials. I love flowly empire waisted dresses :D

The perfect dress has a flattering neckline, showing the collarbones, a flattering length—I like at the knee, and it should fit well, but not so tight as to show any midsection bulges.

I want a dress that is a “classic” with maybe a tricky (but not too revealing) neckline, since we’ll have an expert helping us. An A line or gored skirt. Gotta have sleeves — fat upper arms. I am a larger lady and there is SO little for us. I make my own clothes so I can get colors and fabrics I like (natural fibers) and a decent fit. There are plenty of us out there who want good clothes that will be wearable season after season.

The perfect dress fits perfectly, covers what you want covered and highlights the best parts of your body. It should probably be in a fun color or a nice print too.

Modestly fit in the bust to hide most of my cleavage.
Dec 3, 2011, 04.46 PMby enidb
The perfect dress has flattering lines with not too much fuss. Usually an A-line or princess seams, but to limit would mean to stifle.
Dec 3, 2011, 04.44 PMby sherlyk
The perfect dress for me would be one where it flaunts all the things I want to flaunt yet hides all the things I want to tone down. It’s got to look classic, and the the fit has to be great so that I know I’m wearing something great and not fussing with it all day and night long.

Perfect dress? Princess seams with a flared hem and sleeves that fit (I’ve got ‘big bicep problems’ and always have issues with sleeves where I can’t raise my arms). I love flared hems – I think they look elegant on everyone and work in every fabric there is out there.

the perfect dress is big enough on top to hide most cleavage.

You are never fully dressed without a RUFFLE … so, of course, the perfect dress must have atleast one strategically and perfectly placed.
Dec 3, 2011, 04.37 PMby mymble5
The perfect dress feels good to wear- even after 6 hours at a party, and of course it makes you feel good about yourself- whatever the size or style. It should be somewhat timeless and in a great color to make you smile. The perfect dress is the one you reach for when the question is “What am I going to wear?”
Dec 3, 2011, 04.27 PMby aldara
Definitely fit, but I also love whimsical details: a scalloped hem or neckline, a pretty pocket, button or belt detail…
Dec 3, 2011, 04.25 PMby plaidlinoleum
The fit is the most important thing! A simple dress that is well tailored can make you look and feel amazing. I also like my dresses to have something a little fun and interesting about them- fun print, bright color, interesting detail, or something along those lines.

i think the perfect dress would flatter your figure and in no way be uncomfortable and of course, look beautiful :-)
Dec 3, 2011, 04.15 PMby egdirb
Fit, comfort and makes you feel amazing when you put it on.
Dec 3, 2011, 03.54 PMby SewSunshine
Definately fit! But it must be a style that is in tune to your body type.
Dec 3, 2011, 03.32 PMby bemidjirose
I think the perfect dress is classic in styling, that fits, and well suited to the individual wearing it.
Dec 3, 2011, 03.31 PMby azurejoy
The perfect dress would have classic style, be comfortable, versatile, washable and very flattering.
Dec 3, 2011, 02.57 PMby corvus
Fit, fit, fit.
Dec 3, 2011, 02.56 PMby lejn
For me a perfect dress is a dress with perfect dart placement and construction.
Dec 3, 2011, 02.52 PMby Lyndsey Bell
I think the quality of fabric, and a style that is flattering to your figure and tastes make the perfect dress. Oh, and a great color too :-)
Dec 3, 2011, 02.47 PMby Dibii
The perfect dress should fits you and be in your personal style so you can feel yourself comfortable, other aspects are secondary.
Dec 3, 2011, 02.41 PMby krncpa
The perfect dress has to fit perfectly, be comfortable, be stylish and classic – something that won’t be out of style in 6 months.
Dec 3, 2011, 02.40 PMby lindzsnyder
The perfect dress is figure flattering and can be dressed up or down for different occassions.
Dec 3, 2011, 02.28 PMby Shannon Kramp
The perfect dress is flattering to your figure and personal style. I can never go wrong with a Betsey Johnson cocktail dress!
Dec 3, 2011, 02.21 PMby qml347
The perfect dress has to fit correctly. To me the perfect dress is also how it makes you feel, even if a dress fits well and looks well on you it has to make you feel, sexy, flirty or even girlish. The perfect dress to me is not only in looks but feeling.
